As the NAAFS has shown in the past, they are not afraid to headline a female fighter on one of its largest events of the year. NAAFS Night of Champions 2011 will be headlined by current Pro Series 125 lbs world champion Aisling Daly (12-2 pro), who has the honors of main-eventing an NAAFS event for a second time. Daly will be making the trip to Ohio from her hometown of Dublin, Ireland, but this time it'll be the Hall of Fame City of Canton as her destination. After hosting arguably one of the years most entertaining fight cards with Bellator 51 last month, The Civic Center will host its third big MMA event of the year when the NAAFS rolls in with one of its best cards of 2011.
Daly will defend her belt against rising star Kelly Warren who comes in with an undefeated professional record of 3-0. Warren trains out of one of the sports premier fight camps in Jacksons MMA based in New Mexico. A Win over NAAFS champion Daly, would propel Warren in to the top ten of the world rankings as Daly currently sits as high as sixth in the world at 125 lbs according to some websites and magazines. Also slated to compete on the pro card at Night of Champions will be former NAAFS welterweight champion Nick Duell (8-2 pro) who'll look to win for the second time in his hometown of Canton in a seven month span. Duell has won six of his last seven fights and is looking to re-establish himself as one of the sports top prospects.
Bellator star and NAAFS national amateur champion Jessica Eye (4-1 pro) will return to the NAAFS after picking up her fourth win as a professional at Bellator 51 on September 24th. Eye takes on up and comer Jennifer Scott (2-1 pro) from Houston, Texas who'll look to make a name for herself with a win.
Former NAAFS Heavyweight champion Josh Hendricks (18-7 pro) returns to his original weight class of 265 lbs for a match up against heavy handed William Penn (5-3 pro). Hendricks has been in the cage with the likes of Gabe Gonzaga at UFC 91 and most recently against NAAFS LHW champion and newest Bellator signee Dan Spohn. Penns last appearance in the NAAFS cage was against now UFC star and NAAFS Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic who recently won at UFC 136.
Coming in to Night of Champions with back to back impressive wins will be Canton native Terry Blackwell (2-1 pro , 5-0 amateur) whose wins over Antonio Castillio Jr and Nick Sorg have put him in the hunt for a potential title shot in the near future.
In the nights opening professional bout, hard hitting Antonio Castillo Jr (2-3 pro, 7-1 amateur) collides with the always entertaining Kevin Rothacker (2-0 pro, 5-2 amateur) in what should be a 155 pound slug fest. Night of champions has become known for its spectacular national amateur title bouts and this year should be no different. 2010 National champion Isaiah Chapman (11-1) looks to go down as one of the leagues all-time greatest amateur fighters by capturing his second consecutive national crown. Standing in his way will be the controversial but talented Tyler Saltsman (6-2) who fought Chapman to a decision earlier this season and is coming in off an impressive win over a tough Kyle Pettit.
Featherweight standout Mark Cherico (8-0) will take on well-rounded wrecking machine Russ Breltrick (7-4) for the 145 lbs title. Brletrick has won four straight fights to earn this opportunity while Cherico has yet to taste defeat in his eight fights.
Plus Khama Worthy (7-2) takes on Frank Sloan (10-1) for the 155 lbs title, Dave Gabig (6-2) clashes with Todd Bevan (7-0) for the 170 title, Dave Lastafka (5-0) and Steve Burton (7-1) go to war for the 185 lbs belt while Rachel Dovidio (5-1) returns to take on Evva Johnson (4-1) in a featured womens amateur bout.
The remaining bouts for NAAFS Night of champions are expected to be released soon. All bouts are subject to change. Tickets for this event are on sale now and start at just $17.
