Sid Davis grew up in a Southwestern Ohio farming town. His classroom antics often earned a command appearance…in the Principal's office.
"The Principal asked me to repeat what was so funny to disrupt the class," Davis recalls in a recent interview, "but with his paddle cocked; I had trouble selling the bit."
Sid squeaked through Ohio University's stringent admission requirements of a transcript, a check and a pulse.
Sid's first job as a small radio station copywriter/ad salesman frustrated him. He wanted to entertain people; so he quit.
When Sid informed his young wife of his intentions and unemployment; she informed him of her pregnancy.
