As the kick-off event for the Adult Summer Reading Club, the Hudson Library & Historical Society is proud to welcome author Rebecca Makkai on Thursday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. Makkai is an accomplished short story writer whose first novel, The Borrower, is a delightfully quirky celebration of books and the love of reading.
With clever riffs on famous children’s books sprinkled throughout, The Borrower is a delight for readers of all ages. Publisher's Weekly calls it fast-paced, suspenseful, and thoroughly enjoyable. The Borrower is a Booklist Top Ten Debut, an Indie Next pick, an O Magazine selection, and one of Chicago Magazine's choices for best fiction of 2011. A book signing will follow the presentation.
There is no registration required for this free program. Call 330-653-6658 x 1010 or visit hudsonlibrary.org for more information.
