Why watch a movie at home when you can celebrate cinema the way it was meant to be seen! This August, the Palace Theatre will once again play host to screening classic cinema from Hollywood’s Golden Era of the 1930’s through the 1970's, featuring the most well-loved titles from 15 years of Cinema at the Square!
All films are screened on a massive 20’ high x 47’ wide Super Hurley-Glo projection screen; the largest non-Imax screen in Ohio. To further enhance in the nostalgia, all moviegoers are treated to pre-show organ recitals on a fully restored 1928 Kimball organ, a variety of short films and classic cartoons as well as a fabulous snack bar to make the film-going experience all the more delicious.
Films in this year’s Cinema at the Square series include West Side Story, The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Muppet Movie, Rear Window, Rebel Without a Cause, Casablanca, Some Like it Hot, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Maltese Falcon, An American in Paris and Mary Poppins. The series runs August 2 through August 19. Individual tickets for films are $5, and season pass Flix Tix, which include tickets to six films of your choice, are $15.
