Class Description: This beginner’s yoga workshop will be taught by Lana Sevel, RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher). I will guide you through proper positioning in a slow pace so you can truly learn the fundamentals. It will be done in a nurturing environment where we are all beginners.

Each week you will have a detailed syllabus and printed yoga poses that have detailed instructions for you to take home and practice. Because each body is different, I will take the time to make sure you are successfully brought into each pose with comfort. Awareness of breath and synchronizing breath and movement is what makes yoga, yoga; and not gymnastics or any other physical practice.

You will learn proper yoga breathing, the sun salutation (a series of poses performed in a sequence to create a flow of movement), heart and hip openers, balancing poses, relaxation techniques and other popular yoga poses.

I will offer alignment adjustments, allowing you to master yoga poses which is extremely important before taking a yoga class! Each week we will practice what we learn, anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes. Come prepared to learn, practice and have fun.
