Anti-Trump Protest ('Spirit of America' Counter Rally)

March 4, 2017

Trump supporters around the country are hosting 'Spirit of America' rallies to show their loyality to Trump's hatred. We will show them that we will not tolerate a rally which promotes oppression. Join us in standing up for justice.

Bring signs defying any systemic injustice that Trump stands for- racism, sexism, heterosexism, xenophobia, imperialism, speciesism, ableism, fascism, environmental destruction, transphobia, classism, etc.

For more info on the Spirit of America rally, see this link: http://www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2017/02/rallies_planned_to_show_suppor.html#incart_river_home

Their rally and our counter protest is going to be held at a public park, and most likely there will be minimal to no barriers between us and the Trump supporters. This means that there is a possibility for confrontation between the two sides. Safety is our biggest concern, so here's some tips to help make sure you and everyone else is safe as possible during our demonstration.
-Keep vigil and alert during the protest. If you see someone from the other side acting suspiciously, carrying or weapon, or trying to sneak into our group, let someone within the group know immediately.
-Stay within your comfort zone. If you are not comfortable with being in the front or being close to the supporters, then dont be. We want everyone to feel safe and there will be people there who are comfortable with being on the front lines.
-Make sure someone at the protest knows who you are and has emergency contact information in the event of an emergency. I doubt it will come to this, but it is important to plan for the worst so if it does happen we can make sure everyone is taken care of. If you are planning on attending solo then please message one ot the hosts with your information so we know youre there.
Lets make sure we look out for one another!

We look forward to protesting with you!
