Lakewood’s West End District to host inaugural event, “WellFest”
Lakewood, OH —The West End District of Lakewood hosts its inaugural event, the WE WellFest, on Sunday, June 25, 2017. The WellFest celebrates wellness in its many forms, including mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing, through activities centered on fitness, nutrition, arts and culture, and recreation. The WE WellFest proudly showcases the strength of collaboration among a community, bringing together over a dozen West End businesses and institutions, and another dozen local artists and entertainers.
The WE WellFest is a free, family-friendly event. “It has been exciting to see our District’s organizations come together to provide this free festival for our community,” said Erin Vokes, Chair of the West End District Taskforce. “The day will be packed with activities that will appeal to all walks of life.” Guests are encouraged to start their tour of the WellFest by checking in at the Lakewood Family YMCA Welcome Table anywhere between 7 am and 4 pm to receive a complimentary raffle ticket, a WellFest map and schedule of activities, and a gift bag provided by Lyndall Insurance (while supplies last).
Guests can also enjoy yoga and meditation sessions by Pink Lotus Yoga Studio; chair massages, live music, and more at Sacred Hour Wellness Spa; an interactive “Drums Alive” performance at the Beck Center for the Arts; fitness activities at the YMCA, Ride + Workout, and Second Sole; wine tastings at Cap & Corks; cooking demonstrations by Cornucopia; and bread samples provided by Breadsmith. The WellFest will also feature a “Wellness Pop Up Shop” with local artists, face painting, magic by Gilligan Magic, life size lawn games, sidewalk chalk crafts throughout the District, and much more. Come rain or shine. While admission to the event is free, some activities require a fee and/or online pre-registration. Visit http://www.welakewood.com/events for details.
