St. Mary Magdalene Byzantine Catholic Church European Festival

September 9, 2017 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.


St. Mary Magdalene Byzantine Catholic Church will host its 8th annual European Festival on Saturday, September 9 from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. at 5390 W. 220th Street, Fairview Park, Ohio. The festival brings together the music, ethnic traditions and delicious cuisine from countries across Europe. Activities appeal to visitors of all ages, faiths and backgrounds.

Visitors to the annual event will enjoy live music and dancing throughout the day by a wide variety of ethnic musicians and dance troupes from Northeast Ohio. “Honky Express,” a Cleveland-area polka band will headline the day’s entertainment with a polka party beginning at 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Other entertainment will take place throughout the day.

Baba’s kitchen and bakery will feature ethnic favorites, including St. Mary Magdalene’s hand-pinched pierogi, stuffed cabbage (holupki), pork goulash, kielbasa & sauerkraut, cabbage & noodles (halushki), chicken paprikash, sauerkraut balls, hot dogs, chips, and cucumber salad. Homemade pastries include nut roll, poppyseed roll, apricot roll, baklava, and other ethnic pastries.

Children’s activities include will include Mr. Pierogi’s Grand Adventure, a special children’s-sized area filled with activities to keep the little ones busy!
