Les Sylphides at Playhouse Square

Les Sylphides – presented by Cleveland Ballet

Saturday October 14th, 1:00pm showtime and 7:00pm showtime

Les Sylphides is a non-narrative ballet with original choreography by Michael Fokine and music by Frédéric Chopin. The half-hour ballet often described as a ‘romantic reverie’, is about sylphs dancing in the moonlight with a poet will be performed by pianist Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith. Russian born ballerina, Aygul Abougalieva, will stage the ballet.

Collage of Sinatra Songs-Some of the most recognized Frank Sinatra songs get a different twist as dancers execute Guadalupe’s interpretation of one of the most popular and influential singers of the 20th century.

Johann Sebastian Bach’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor will serve as a canvas for world premiere choreography by Gladisa Guadalupe. Pianists Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith and Sophia Van Der Westhuizen will perform Concerto.
