Holly Gleason – ‘Woman Walk the Line' with Special Guest Rachel Brown

December 8, 2017 7pm to 9pm

HOLLY GLEASON – ‘WOMAN WALK THE LINE’ W/ SPECIAL GUEST RACHEL BROWN
Friday, December 8, 7pm @ Visible Voice Books
Free

Before Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, Dolly, Loretta, and Tammy — even before there was Kitty Wells — there was Maybelle Carter and Lil Hardin. Those legendary ladies are just two of many careers that are covered in the new book release, 'Woman Walk The Line: How The Women In Country Music Changed Our Lives.'

In this collection of personal essays, a diverse group of women music writers pay tribute to the female country artists who have inspired them, including Brenda Lee, June Carter Cash, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, and Taylor Swift.

Holly Gleason is a Nashville-based writer and artist development consultant. She’s written for Rolling Stone, The LA Times, NY Times, Oxford American, No Depression, PASTE, Lone Star Music, Texas Music, Spin, Musician, CREEM, Interview, PLAYBOY, The Palm Beach Daily News The Vineyard Gazette,Tower Pulse, Request, Rockbill, Bam, Rock & Soul and Mix. She loves songwriters, roots music, country, r&b and very early rap, as well as life moments, fame and its impact on who we are.
