Old Time Radio The Palm Beach Story

March 1, 2018 7pm to 10:30pm

From Roughly 1930-1950 Radio Drama and Comedies played as much a part of our culture as Television does today. But a radio program, for the actors, didn't take as much time out of their schedule. So it was the norm for starts like Henry Fonda, Barbra Stanwyck, Myrna Loy and Jimmy Stewart to have a radio show. So.....

Join us every 1st Thursday at 7 p.m. for Old Time Radio Night at Loganberry Books, where we'll celebrate the charm and nostalgia of old-time radio programs.

This month our focus from the Golden Age of Radio will be on The Palm Beach Story (1942). Another in the string of Hit Comedies by Preston Sturges, it was presented in 1943 on Screen Actors Guild on 1944 on the Old Gold Radio Show. Both with Claudette Cobert as the female lead, but with Randolph Scott and Robert Young Replacing Joel Mcrae Respectively.

Then join us in two weeks for the movie Version.
