Parma Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

May 6, 2018 3:00pm to 5:00pm


The Parma Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert on Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 PM at Valley Forge High School Auditorium located at 9999 Independence Boulevard in Parma Heights.

Music Director Dr. Randolph P. Laycock presents:

Artie Shaw’s Concerto for Clarinet Featuring Soloist Katsuya Yuasa

Johann Strauss “Roses From the South”

Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Family passes of $20 are available for families of up to 2 adults and their children. All tickets are available at the door beginning at 2:30 PM.

A charismatic and versatile clarinetist, Katsuya Yuasa has performed widely in the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. Presently he is a Concert Artist of Mu Phi Epsilon (MPE), Adjunct Professor at Florida A&M University (FAMU), and a graduate teaching assistant at Florida State University (FSU) where he is pursuing a doctoral degree under the guidance of Jonathan Holden and Deborah Bish. He completed his Master’s degree and Artist Diploma at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he studied with Michael Norsworthy. Katsuya became a Yamaha Young Performing Artist in 2014. He is a member of the International Clarinet Association, the College Music Society, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
