Jekyll’s Kitchen to Open in Chagrin Falls

CLEVELAND – April 1, 2009 – Overlooking the breathtaking Chagrin River waterfalls, Jekyll’s Kitchen – Hyde Park Restaurant Group’s newest concept – is set to open its doors to the public on Thursday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. Located at 17 River St., in the heart of historic downtown Chagrin Falls, Jekyll’s will feature a casual, yet sophisticated dining experience, ideal for cocktails, a romantic dinner, or a laid-back get-together with friends and neighbors.
“After many years of planning, we couldn’t be more excited to open in Chagrin Falls – an ideal location for our newest offering,” said Joe Saccone, president, Hyde Park Restaurant Group. “We are looking forward to sharing our amazing food and exceptional service in an atmosphere that can’t be matched.”
The Tastes
The Jekyll’s menu, executed by Executive Chef Kevin Foley, will feature a modern twist on many American classics. Guests can look forward to starters such as fresh truffle chips with buttermilk bleu cheese, candied pecans, sage and balsamic drizzle; crispy ginger garlic calamari with chili lime dipping sauce and fresh cilantro; and spiced rare tuna with mango slaw.
A variety of gourmet sandwiches, salads and bar food will be available, such as a juicy cheeseburger with Tillamook cheddar and spicy aioli served with hand-cut French fries and malt mayo; a French dip au jus that will feature shaved prime rib and horseradish sauce on a toasted French roll with hand-cut French fries; and a roasted chicken mixed green salad with crunchy peanuts, red pepper cilantro vinaigrette, fried noodles and sesame drizzle. Jekyll’s rustic, wood-grill oven will fire-up a variety of wood-grilled pizzas that include an Italian sausage, olive, banana peppers and fresh mozzarella pizza; and lobster meat, lobster sauce, fresh mozzarella and parmesan cheese pizza.
Jekyll’s will also offer a broad selection of entrees, including pastas, steaks and chops, as well as specially priced daily features. Stand-out entrees include ricotta ravioli with a hearty pork and veal Bolognese; fall off the bone baby back ribs accompanied by tangy slaw and hand-cut French fries; and goat cheese-crusted filet mignon medallions, dried cranberries, pine nuts, sweet balsamic and potato Gruyère gratin. In addition, Jekyll’s will feature a selection of steaks and chops including a tender filet mignon topped with caramelized onion butter; a house-marinated double-cut pork chop with bourbon apple chutney; and succulent prime rib. The prime rib will be available to guests every Wednesday through Sunday.
Satisfying the sweet tooth, Jekyll’s will feature a variety of desserts including a caramelized banana split with vanilla bean ice cream and orange caramel sauce; and triple red velvet cake.
The Bar
Featuring an eclectic wine list with more than 19 wines by-the-glass; an assortment of draft and bottled beers, including local Cleveland flavors; and an extensive martini list; Jekyll’s will feature a brand new drinking and socializing experience in a stylish, energetic environment.
For example, Jekyll’s Elderflower Pear martini will feature the hottest cordial on the market – St. Germain. Very aromatic, St. Germain is hand-harvested from elderflowers picked from the foothills of the Alps and features an intense aroma of jasmine – perfectly complementing the martini’s pear vodka and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Accompanying each perfectly prepared cocktail are molecularly-inspired garnishes, equally as exciting as the drink itself. Nitrogen-charged, strawberry foam will top select drink specialties. Faux caviar balls, created from common ingredients such as cranberry juice and green olives, will be paired with several martinis. All cocktails will be made-to-order with freshly squeezed orange, lemon and lime juice.
Guest can also look forward to a happy hour menu that includes a variety of $4 food items such as Chef’s sliders; black pepper wings; truffle chips; and a selection of wood-grilled pizzas, in addition to $5 house wine by-the-glass; $2 domestic and $3 import beer; and a select list of $5 cocktails and martinis.
Inside and Out
Decorated with a vibrant red, bronze and black color palate, Jekyll’s will feature an exhibition kitchen and a multi-level bar and dining area that includes low-level and booth seating. Taking full advantage of its picturesque backdrop, the dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the falls.
Jekyll’s will also feature two outdoor patios, scheduled to open in mid-May 2009. The upper, street-side patio will accommodate approximately 70 people and feature a small cabana bar, outdoor fireplace, bistro-style dining tables and soft-seating. The lower-level patio will seat approximately 25 people and feature a full-menu dining experience, with close-up, more intimate views of the falls.
Jekyll’s will also offer three private dining rooms. Accommodating eight to 60 guests, the private dining rooms feature warm, inviting fireplaces, wine cellars, and access to the lower patio for guests to enjoy outdoor and indoor private dining in this magical setting.
Jekyll’s Kitchen will be open Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and seasonal hours on Sunday. Happy hour will be offered from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday during the winter hours. For reservations call 440-893-0797.
