Manages and coordinates the activities and workload of one or more engineering projects. Assists in the preparation of deliverables. Will be the lead on Electrical Engineering projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Manages, schedules and coordinates the activities and workload of the Engineering project teams ensuring project design schedules and budgets are adhered to according to client needs, construction budget, project schedule and company quality standards.
2. Ensures engineering documents are produced according to company specifications by delegating tasks to project team members, and monitoring and reviewing technical details for quality and feasibility.
3. Participates in business development and planning, and assists marketing department and management with preparation of proposals, prepares letter proposals and interfaces with clients.
4. Assists Director and/or Department Head in developing project scopes, schedules and staffing needs, and develops a work plan for completing project objectives. Maintains effective communications through project completion ensuring proper documentation and maintenance of related paperwork.
5. Reviews project specifications for engineering components to ensure conformance with project design and coordination with other specified materials.
6. Develops and coordinates project documents and provides guidance and technical expertise to team members in resolving design problems including anticipating and resolving potential performance issues.
7. Serves as primary contact for assigned projects with clients, municipal review agencies, and utility companies, and guides team members in their contact with the client and review agencies.
8. Participates, as needed, in preliminary engineering, special systems design, preparation of construction plans and specifications, cost estimates, reports, bidding services, shop drawing review, preparation of change orders and record drawings.
9. Maintains department staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
10. Supervises staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
11. Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
12. Maintains confidentiality of Company and Client information.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of five to ten years engineering experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Professional engineering registration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ten plus years engineering experience with previous project management experience. Experience with AutoCADD.
