CREDIT ANALYST

Aleris International is a growing Fortune 500 company with headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio since 2004. We are multi-billion dollar manufacturer of aluminum with 47 plants and 8,800 employees around the world. Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a talented Credit Analyst to manage a global receivable portfolio and provide on-going proactive credit analysis and financial analysis.

The key player will manage overall portfolio risk (70M to 120M per portfolio), manage held orders which includes ensuring orders are within established credit lines.  Use objective and subjective analysis to proactively increase lines when appropriate in order to facilitate customer shipment requests.  Manage receivable portfolio in order to meet working capital goals.  Work with customer, customer service, sales in order to ensure all receivable are paid within agreed payment terms.  Provide proactive credit analysis within assigned credit portfolio.  Prepare financial analysis to present to upper management justifying Aleris’ receivable lines beyond level of authority. Take appropriate action to manage the receivables of customers who are high risk.  Travel to meet with customer CFO / Controller in order to establish relationships and obtain necessary financial information. Ensure Global credit policies and SOX controls are maintained. Proactively recommend improvements to existing processes. Prepare various reports as assigned.

Successful Candidates Profile:

• BS in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in credit & collections and or accounts receivable at large global organizations (500M+)
• Ability to generate and interpret financial and credit related reports.
• Proven track record of working effectively in a team environment.
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
• Highly motivated, goal oriented, and driven by a challenge.
• Strong interpersonal skills: strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills; multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong Excel and Word computer skills; experience with Oracle is a plus.
• Willing to travel up to 20% domestically.
• Proven track record of working independently with minimal guidance from management.
