Looking for that Special Place...This is it!
Our party of four capped off a day trip to Akron with dinner at Ken Stewart's Grill. We had done research and noted that the Grill always has a spot among Akron's top dining establishments so we were very interested in giving it a try. We were not disappointed. Service was excellent (and a lot of fun as it was Halloween). Our server wore a spot-on Kiss outfit complete with make up. The food lives up to its billing. A panko encrusted pork chop dish was called "the best pork chops ever tasted" by one of our party. How they get that melt-in-your-mouth texture is beyond me having eaten our share of chewy, tough chops. My whole snapper stuffed with ginger, flash fried, and served with ponzu was astonishing. Yes, you have to deal with some bones but this was an amazingly flavorful and flaky fish with perfectly crispy skin. A huge Delmonico steak was done to a perfect medium rare and an order of crab legs provided a mountain of crab meat thanks to the kitchen staff's shelling. Part of the steak and half the crab went home with our friends as it was just too much to finish. Be careful of the specials, though, and ask for prices if you are worried about the final bill. We didn't, and the $65 charge for the crab legs did give us a bit of a gasp. The wine list was extensive but the pricing was a bit high for our liking so we stuck with glasses of wine. There are enough offerings at reasonable prices to complement a good meal. All-in-all a great meal, top flight service and a great time by our party of four. If you are looking for a special place to dine, you can't go wrong at Ken Stewart's Grill.

It's not cheap, but we weren't looking for fast food!
Our party of five took full advantage of the variety of magnificently prepared entres. This was our first experience here, and though the pricing will not make this a weekly stop, it certainly will be on the top of our list for those special occasions. We were comfortably seated and timely greeted by "Vicki" our waitress; or we would rather say a seasoned broadway actress who carries the personality of your best friend. Vicki's vocabulary in describing the many varieties of choices for the evening continued with her ability to end a celebratory evening with a platter of desserts that satisfied the palates of our group from age 32 to 89. We honestly didn't know where the evening had gone, enjoying the music and warmth of the atmosphere in this special restaurant. We believe in making memories with our family and we truly accomplished that with thanks to Ken Stewart's Grill, and of course, Vicki!

For 15 years, Ken Stewart's has been synonymous with fine dining in Akron. The elegant dining room, characterized by etched glass and rich colors, provides a setting that's as sumptuous as the food. Diners can treat themselves to beluga caviar and market-price lobster, or choose from an array of other seafood, poultry and meat dishes, as well as a couple of vegetarian entrees (grilled vegetable platter or penne with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and feta). Among the most popular dishes are the Japanese shrimp (wrapped in shredded phyllo and served with a sweet soy glaze), cashew-crusted chicken and filet mignon. The extensive menu is augmented daily by two dozen specials that are available at lunch and dinner.
