My boyfriend and I have were planning to go to Ken Stewarts Lodge for that special day but when we arrived it was crowded and had to wait. Instead we saw a relatively new place that opened next door, the Bistro at Hammonds Corners and decided to give it a try. We were both pleasantly suprised at the change of our plans. We both have dined at Ken Stewarts but will probably never go back after going to the Bistro. The food at the Bistro was excellant, we started with the crab cakes and sauteed mussels for an appetizer, both had the house salad, I had the Pan Seared Filet and my boyfriend had the Salmon Scapiciatta. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine that the server recommended. What a meal and at less than half the price of Ken Stewarts. The atmosphere was friendly and service was wonderful. We will definately go back there and it won't have to be only for that special occasion like Ken Stewarts.

Its not often that I spend $200+ on dinner for 2. But if I had to choose somewhere to do that it would be Ken Stewarts Lodge. In response to Lynn, its common that people ask the price of special when its being described, and learn to ask when you see MARKET PRICE. My girlfriend and I went to the Lodge in May and it was wonderful. We started our meal with their crab cake. $15 sounds pricy, but there was NO FILLEr in the crab cake, thats right, no filler. We then had salads, my girlfriend is a fan of their house salad, which is a bed of mixed greens, with pine nuts, feta cheese, crasins, and a balsamic vinagrette. I had the BLT salad, it was delicious. We enjoyed their wonderful house bread with our salads. By the time we were finished with our salads, dinner came. I enjoyed there 14oz Strip Steak, with a side of their latin city corn. My girlfriend had thier almond crusted trout, and a sweet potato soufle. They charged $5 for mushrooms with my steak, but roasted a whole clove of fresh garlic with my steak for free. I would highly recomend Ken Stewarts Lodge for any men thinking of taking their wife, girlfriend, or out of towners out for a wonderful night. The restaurant has a great atmoshpere and wonderful service.

Not sure which restaurant the first review was talking about (Lynn from Brecksville), but we have always had a wonderful meal and a great experience everytime we have eaten at Ken Stewart's Lodge. The food is ALWAYS exceptional, service is fine, and the cost of everything is always available for the asking. We always have appetizers, salads, cocktails, entrees and desserts, and we have never had the kind of bill "she " was talking about,(and we do order the specials). This place is well worth the money (a little pricey-$350.00 for a party of 4), and I would reccommend it to everyone.

After a $700 tab for a party of 4, we won't be coming back any time soon! Very deceptful - the printed menu has entrees topping out at $30.00, then they entice you with their "specials" which include about 50 or more items which are explained to you by their waiter. The prices are never discussed until you get the bill! Wow, we were suprised to see 2 of our entrees were over $140.00 each! The food was good, but not that good! Unfortunately, this happened to us twice and now we've learned our lesson - we'll be frequenting the more honest restaurants around!

We don't go to Ken Stewart's Lodge in Bath too often, but every time we do it's a memorable occasion. We were driving through the Cuyahoga Valley, looking at the trees starting to change color, and it just seemed natural to eat at the lodge to celebrate the Fall Season. The ambience began as soon as we stepped out of our car and we smelled the wood burning in the outside patio. We were seated imediately in a cozy booth near a fireplace and under the great wood beamed ceiling. The service semed a little slow - there was a large group seated in the same room - but then we realized that the server was hovering nearby, and he didn't want to rush our dining experience. We had the Seared Tuna with spicy sauce appetizer and it was wonderful (it's a healthy portion, so you'll want to share). My wife had the Filet Oscar, and I had the mixed grill. Both were excellent. This is the kind of place where you savor every bite, end up holding hands at the table with your significant other and remembering the evening for a long time. Bring your appetite, the portions are generous.

Mention Ken Stewart's Lodge to a group of itinerant diners, and you'll likely hear at least one of them exclaim, ""Oh, that's such a romantic place."" It's worth the trip to Bath for anyone who enjoys the cozy, lodge-style atmosphere that this four-year-old restaurant provides in abundance. And the dining areas are indeed romantic, with soft lighting, intimate booths and a fireplace in nearly every room. The food - no afterthought to the decor - lives up to the Ken Stewart reputation for fine dining. The menu of seafood, steaks and chops, chicken and pasta is augmented daily by an array of specials. Dinners come with a choice of perfectly cooked green beans almondine, rice pilaf or baked potato, and a house salad topped with feta, pine nuts, sun-dried cranberries and a well-balanced balsamic vinaigrette. As at its sister establishment, all wines and dinners are available for carryout.
