Shark Wasabi
Kimo's is the best. He makes sharks out of the wasabi. I have been going to kimo's for years. At times he can be a bit like the soup nazi on seinfeld, we of course put up with it for the same reason the Seinfeld folks did, excellent food. Easily the best sushi in Cleveland.

Good Sushi At A Great Price
Drove by Kimo's a few weeks ago and finally came back to try the Sushi. It was late and no one else but Kimo was in the shop.
Kimo doesn't seem like the most talkitive person but the food more than made up for that. The Edamame was fantastic! It seemed like it was salted with Sea Salt which gave it a great flavor.
Tried 4 different Maki Rolls and all of them had great flavor!
The most suprising was the check. $24 for 4 rolls, edamame, and 2 drinks. Try to find another sushi place with that kind of price at the end of the meal!
All and all it was a good experience. Don't come for the conversation or the atmosphere, but do come for the great food.

Best Darn Sushi in Cleveland!!!
My wife and I eat sushi every other week and were looking for something different and better than Sushi Rock. We found it thanks to our GPS. At first when we arrived we were reluctant to go in as it doesn't look like much. We actually went down the street to Johnny Mangos and had a drink there first. We asked the manager if he recommended going to Kimo's Sushi or not and he HIGHLY RECOMMENDED it! How could we not go after that. When we walked in we were greeted with lovely Hawaiian Music and a very personable cook/waiter/owner Kimo himself. When we ordered we were disappointed to find out he didn't server alcohol but phsyched when he pointed out the wine shop just accross the street! We got to drink our favorite wine for 1/4 of the cost of a normal restaurant. Now for the fish - we are very picky when it comes to fresh sushi. First bite we knew we'd be back. Beautiful presentation! Delicious sushi and rolls! Very affordable! All those sushi lovers out there... this is the place. Sorry Sushi Rock - we're going to Kimo's!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced
I ordered a sushi tray from Kimo himself 2 days in advanced from when I needed it. I sent someone to pick it up, and they were closed for a catering event! I called Kimo himself, and I have never been treated so rudely from a restaurant, let alone the owner. No one called me to let me know they couldn't prepare my sushi tray, and he didn't seem to care he would never have my business again. This rude person does not deserve to stay in business.

fresh
I tend to disagree with the others... in two or three years, I've yet to encounter unfresh food. Infact, everything that I've ever tried at Kimo's has been made fresh, and has generally been served with a pleasant attitude, if not a smile.
Sure, Margaret may seem a bit distant - maybe even out there - but that has never taken away from the experiance of quick, fresh and affordable sushi in a town that lacks a variety of quality Japanese food.

Ick - not good
I recently tried take out at this restaurant for the second time and unfortunately, I won't be giving it a third chance.
The sushi was not fresh. It found it's way into the trash can very quickly.
I work in the neighborhood and I love the concept of this restaurant. It sounds like the owner is trying to make a go of it. Maybe there is a supplier issue. At any rate, there are too many other dining options to spend money on spolied food.

Absolutely THE WORST I have ever had!
I hate to say this about a local small business, but my husband and I ordered take out from here only to immediately throw it away in disgust. Although whomever answered the phone was nice enough to make a salmon roll spicy for me, when I got it, it tasted spoiled! My husband will usually eat just about anything, but this place is where he drew the line. We were so excited to have a sushi place right by us, but after trying it, we are hoping that another business takes it's place! I can say with no doubt that if the health department doesn't close this place down from serving bad food, then the bad word of mouth will finish the job.

BAD SERVICE, BAD SUSHI
I have always LOVED Kimo's. Today was the exception. I called in a phone order. I asked if they had any specials An abrupt "No." Then "Oh well, if you mean our Spider Rolls etc." Yeah, that is what I mean. Kimo was so curt with me I had to stop him from hanging up so that I could give him my full order!! ( He was ready to shut it down after the Spider Rolls!) I pick it up, three tables in the dining room were filthy and for the first time, the sushi was awful. Sloppily made and flavorless. Kimo, if you are having a bad day, don't take it out on me or my food! I hope this experience will be the exception.

Nestled into what was half of Ohio City Pizzeria, Kimo's is a welcoming slice of serenity. Owners James ""Kimo"" Javier and Margaret King prepare food that is art: The meat of the spicy scallop special roll is as tender as liquid pearls, and the asparagus tips of the veggie rolls peek above the surface like a hint of spring. Miso soup offers satin sheets of seaweed and firm cubes of tofu, but it's the noodle soups that create a revelation - udon, ramen or slender buckwheat soba - in broth that is simultaneously rich and mild. Dumplings are a worthy add-on, their delicate wrappers stuffed with spicy ground tuna. Everything can be packaged for carryout, and two can dine happily and healthfully for about the price of a large pizza.

Great Sushi
It's a small "Mom & Pop place , but it's a cute spot with a great veiw of Ohio City. The sushi is wonderful, his roll's make some other places look scrawny in comparison. Good value! Kimo is from Hawaii & he said they do authentic Hawaiian luas. They were playing some really nice Hawaiian music & then Kimo Jammed on the ukelele!! We had alot of fun.
