I cannot find words of praise high enough to describe this place. Just get a #9 with a peanut butter and chocolate and marshmallow rice crispy treat for dessert and it'll explain everything :) Not only is the food superb, but the staff is always very human and animal friendly. This shop is one of the reasons I moved to Tremont, and they've never let me down.

I recently moved away from Tremont (Sob) I lived a few doors down from La Bodega!...I miss my Cajun Chicken Wrap so much! La Bodega is the best, if you haven't been...GO! The people and the food rock!

This neighborhood sandwich shop occupies a quiet corner of Tremont, just a few blocks from the Professor Avenue strip of dining hot spots. La Bodega is a hot spot of sorts, too, but there's no valet parking, and you won't have to part with much cash to enjoy anything on the extensive menu. Sandwiches make up the bulk of the choices; choose from dozens of varieties, like roast beef with tomato, lettuce, caramelized onions and cream cheese, or something simpler like peanut butter, banana and honey (you choose the bread). Generous salads include a Southwestern chicken version with corn, black beans, tortilla chips and a smoky-hot ranch-style dressing; La Bodega also offers a selection of pasta salads. Sandwich and soup specials are featured daily, along with cookies and crispy marshmallow treats and a cooler full of sodas, juices, water and other beverages. Many customers phone in a carryout order, but the tiny, brick-walled dining room is comfortable and cozy. When the weather's fair, diners can also perch outside on a picnic table.

I've lived in Tremont for over a year now and never knew this place existed. My first experiance of the heaven sent subs was 4/27/05 and when i win the lottery i am planning on buying this place! Not only do they have the best subs i have ever had--they also have the best pasta salad in the world!! Hats off to my new favorite restaurant, not just in Tremont--but the world as well!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!
