Dining with a Dazel
This is a really nice establishment. There are nice apolstered high backed chairs with waiters in tuxes that attend your every need. There is a full course meal with salad and a baked patato and steak for like $25.00. There is after dinner mints to enjoy while looking out over the county river. There is valay parking and a large empty lot across the street for limos to park. The wine list is large and they even brush your crumbs off the table. Grab a limo and drop $300 bucks for 5 people or stay away.

High-backed upholstered chairs. Waiters in black tuxedos who know how to approach (and tend) a table. Diners dressed for a special occasion, seated in a quiet dining room overlooking a winding country stream. And a no-frills menu featuring steaks, chops and seafood done to a sumptuousness only dreamed of by nouveau chefs in search of the flash flavor of the week. Sigh. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Lanning's opened in 1970, and owners Jess and Sue Cecil continue to maintain the highest standards of excellence. The steaks are unrivaled: hand-cut, then brushed with Lanning's blend of herbs and spices, a sauce that actually enhances the flavor of the meat rather than merely providing accent. The same care is taken with the rack of lamb and the shish kebab - which is offered either grilled or served Cajun-style - and with the seafood as well (special kudos going to the sauteed walleye in an herbed cream sauce). A great vintage wine list, delicious desserts; Lanning's is the place to go when you want to impress - and eat really well.
