Texan's in Cleveland?
Well, I haven't been to Lucita's yet. I'm online looking for a great Puerto Rican dining experience. The Texan's review doesn't deter me from giving Lucita's a try. I'm from Cleveland, but have lived in the L.A. area since 1975. I'm all too familiar with Mexican food. What your readers need to know is that the BEST EVER Mexican food I've ever had IS Tex-Mex. Texans don't play around when it comes to food. Bad service is one matter, but your "Annonymous from Cleveland" is adjusted to the best of the best, and so it's a bit hard to step down to Cleveland's humble attempt at Mexican. I went to Abuelo's yesterday, and ended up requesting a side of pico de Gallo, some cilantro, and jalepenos. I took the limes and lemons wedges from my drink, and mixed it all together to doctor up that bottled crap they were calling "salsa". Even Pace Picante makes a better salsa than what they were serving up. The waiter tasted my salsa, and had to apologise!

Horrible service with mediocre food
Since relocating to Cleveland from Texas about a month ago, my wife and I have been looking for a decent Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant. We recently visited Luchita's on 117th, but based on what we experienced, we will never dine there again. When we arrived at the establishment, we were seated immediately and ignored for over 10 minutes. When our server finally acknowledged us, she took both our drink and dinner orders. I ordered their beef Tex-Mex enchiladas with their red sauce ($12) and a Diet Coke ($1.50), and my wife ordered a beef chimichanga ($10) with a 7UP ($1.50). A busboy brought out our food in about 10 minutes, but we still didn't have anything to drink. We asked the busboy if we could have our drinks, but he only responded with a grunt. In several minutes, our server finally arrived at our table with something to drink, only it was a single beer, not our two sodas we had ordered. After several more minutes, we finally received our drinks. The problem now was that our drinks were in juice-glass sized cups, not the larger cups that we saw everywhere else in the restaurant. Because I was already very thirsty, I drank that glass quickly and had to wait another 15 minutes before I could get the attention of someone to give me a refill. They once again brought back something other than what I ordered. The quality of the food was mediocre at best as compared to the Mexican food we are used to from Texas. My wife's chimichanga had little to no flavor and my enchiladas were unremarkable. The atmosphere in the restaurant was somewhat nice and appropriate with a shabby southwestern theme. Altogether, the service was horrible, and I would feel my money better spent at Taco Bell.
