Don't waste your money

Please don not go here! I took my Grandmother here because my Grandfather used to like to taker her here before he passed away 18 years ago. Well it hasn't changed in 18 years if you know what I mean. The service was horrible and they made a scene in front of other patrons and my Grandmother when I tried to use a Restaurant.com gift card. It was a very embarrassing situation and they were extremely mean to us for no reason! What a bummer for this place cause it could be very cute and it is local which I usually love supporting!

ASK who's cooking!!!!

For those of you not happy and those of you who want to know --- Ask if "John" is in the kitchen cooking. John is the owner and he will cook you a perfect meal.....And for those of you who don't like the eggrolls, it is because you are used to the frozen, processed kind that come in frozen and get thrown in the fryer. This owner makes every eggroll, every week, from scratch -- That's why they are the best eggrolls around!

asian wok review 6/24/2012@12 noon

I ordered dinner for two. It was ready on time, unfortunately, I got no sweet and sour sauce, with my sweet and sour pork. Though I appreciate the tastes of everything I ordered, the portions are really small! This is not a place for value.

the worst food in the country

I bought a general sows for 9.99 I noticed a fowl smell when I walked in to pick up the food and when I got back to work and looked into the bag, it was very small. When I tasted the food, it was so bland and the sauce smelled like a smelly shoe, an hour later I had to go to the hospital. I am going to take them to court. DO NOT EAT THERE.

THE BEST!!!

I will only eat at the Asian Wok for Chinese. Its the best. The Hot & Sour Soup is better than anywhere else in town and their spring rolls are exceptional. My family has never had a bad meal there. It is definitely a one to try.

A Joyful dining exp[erience!

My wife and I stopped in this past week and were pleasanrly surprised by the Asian Wok. My wife is not crazy about Chinese food in general, but she thoroughly enjoyed her meal and pronounced it the best Chinese foof she ever ate. I, too, enjoyed my meal. We told our friends how much we liked the Asian Wok and we will go back soon and often.

TOD! At least you didn't get SICK....

I've only been to the Asian Wok once, and like you Tod, it was about 10 years ago. I thought the food tasted ok except for the chicken seemed to taste "old" and/or flavorless. The next day, my husband and I ended up at the med center with severe food poisoning. I experienced less pain in child birth than I experienced that day. Of course I can't prove it, but circumstantial evidence tells me that the food poisoning was the result of our dinner at the Asian Wok. What irritated me was that I wrote a letter to the owner and NEVER got any type of reply. I had expected a "We're sorry and we would like to believe we weren't the cause. Please come back and try us again" with possibly an offer for a free dinner. Rather than pursue it, I considered myself lucky to be alive and vowed never to go back. It amazes me that they can be in business for so long. Thanks for reminding me to keep my vow of abstenance from the Asian Wok.

Won't eat our Chinese Food anywhere else!

This is where we get our Chinese take-out EVERY time - even though they don't deliver - it is worth going to pick it up!! The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The service is always friendly and without flaw. The one or two times that we got lazy and decided to have another place deliver it to us - we reminded ourselves never to do it again - we will always go and pick up from Asian Wok. We get the ribs on the bone, Shrimp with Snap Peas, Kung Pao chicken, egg rolls - we love it all!! Thanks Asian Wok for being a Westlake staple!!

Asian Wok? No, Asian Wrong.

I have never had a good experience here. It has been been at least 10 years since my last visit and I was reminded why I was frustrated years ago and wrote this place off to patronage. I'll keep this review mainly food focused. The place's decor hasn't changed, but who cares if the food fills your stomach and leaves you pleased. The take-out was ready in less than the stated 15 minutes and served with a smile. Cool. $19.74 for Chicken Lo mein (Pint), Sezcuan vegetables (Pint), Fried Rice (1 tiny cup) and 3 Spring Rolls... $19.74! Is that a lot? Seems like it to me. The RESULTS The lo mein had a foul smell to it (organic in a negative way) with very little taste. The vegetables had a hint of heat, but nothing I would order again and not worth $7.95. The spring rolls were a major downfall. Typically spring rolls are veggie stuffed. Here they put in a pork mash. Maybe that would have been palatable, but pink and uncooked? Lastly the fried rice. It was good and I would eat it again, but it wasn't -- and never will be -- enough to convince me to ever go to this dump again. I was actually upset over this meal because 1. it was over-priced 2. the quality was sub-par and 3. I left hungry. So I decided to drive back and give them the leftover food that we couldn't stomach. I explained my biggest concern - uncooked pork-filled spring rolls. They just looked at me like it was my problem not theirs. I also explained that the lo mein had a fowl smell to it and they replied "What would you like us to do?" Really? How long have you been in business and you have no clue that a patron is your best asset and potentailly your worst nightmare. Well I asked them to refund me for the spring rolls and that's what they did. Cost of 3 Spring Rolls = $4.20 Amount refunded = $4.20. I pick up the tab for Uncle Sam and they get a very bad review with a promise to never return. That being said, if you did enjoy your experience I am glad, but wonder why. Before writing this I spoke with a couple friends about the experience and mine is not isolated. Thanks for nothing Asian Wok. If you would like to challenge my opinion do so here... Thanks pluggedincleveland.com for a great resource!

Taking the asia out of asian food

My husband and I, new to the area, decided to try Asian Wok because we love Chinese and other food. What we were served was more like Chung King from a can with brown gravy all over it. I asked for hoisin and the waitress did not know what it was. Very bland, even though we asked for spicy. Not a good experience. The empty restaurant should have been a tip-off.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS

This is where I head for Asian comfort food. The service is excellent and the food is inexpensive and well prepared. Lunch specials and combination plates are ideal for a single diner. On a cold wintery day you can't beat a cup of their won ton soup and cashew chicken by the lovely fireplace in their dining room. The bar also serves up a fantastic Singapore Sling. For about ten bucks you can have a great dinner and leave with a smile on your face! My favorite Chinese restaurant.
