less au bon, more pain.
I went during the tail end of lunch hour to au bon pain. The ordering system was a bit confusing for a first timer. If you wanted a sandwich you had to circle everything on a piece of paper, but it looked like some people were walking right up and ordering.
The service was fine.
It is a cafeteria-styled restaurant, which, when paying $12 for a soup and a sandwich, I did not really like. Literally, $12, and I didn't even get anything to drink. I got the pumpkin soup. It tasted bland and floury. I also had a roasted red pepper sandwich with really dry bread and a bizzare sauce on it (the one that came with the sandwich - not my choice.) I am a terrible cook, but I'm sure I could have made all these things better myself.
Latter, doing research on the place, I found out that it was a chain and the parent company/spin off of Panera. I really don't like Panera's food either. Go figure.
