Never Again

We have gone there several times and it was nice. We ordered an apitizer and asked for bread. The waitress said well that comes with the salad do you want it now. She brought the bread and it was ice cold corn muffins. The food was good. When she brought the check we used a restaurant.com gift certificate and she said just to let you know we add 18%n tip to these.(There were 3 of us) If we had not had to chase her down everytime we wanted something it would have been different. Although it does state that on the gift certificate I have purchased loads of these gift certificates and never ever been charged 18% for a tip. Should you choose to go there and get Lorraine as your server ask for someone else. Never never purchase a gift certificate for this restaurant. That was our last trip to austins

One Of Those Places Your Lucky Yo Find !!

I have to admit after my first time dining at Austin's I was pleasantly surprised- after a long and stressful day the experience could not have been more than perfect. It's the type of place you're lucky to find... a small local bar/restaurant unpretentious with simply good food -- and the feeling of a laid back crowd. I have had the privilege of eating in some of the best restaurants in Cleveland(and in the country) I was impressed. The service may have been a little slow but on the other hand it was a very relaxed atmosphere, which I think is their approach. Simply put The Steaks are phenomenal.

Um Um GOOD!!!

My husband and I went into Austin's Steak House this past weekend during the Mayfield Village Cruise Night. The food was great - Pulled pork sandwich that was piled high and BBQ'd ribs that literally fell off the bone. The atmosphere was fun and light and the place was packed. We ran into friends and ended up at the bar where the bartender was friendly and apologized for the close quarters. Yes, it is small but quaint and the people were friendly...Can't wait to go again.

Austin's Saving Grace

I've eaten here about a half dozen times over the last 5 years and have enjoyed it for the most part, but they do seem to have some issues. It's a very small restaurant so it always seems packed, there's usually a wait and the waiting area is cramped as another reviewer mentioned. Better to go before 6 or after 8 to avoid the crowd. With one exception I have always enjoyed the food although it is a bit overpriced for what it is. They seem to be understaffed because every time I've been there the service has been slow and the wait staff seems frazzled. I blame it on management as people can only do so much and if you overwork them they will make mistakes and get an attitude sooner or later. If you want more rolls or a drink refill, you will probably have to wait 5-10 minutes just to get somebody's attention then another 5-10 minutes for your request to be fulfilled. I wonder if it ever occurred to them that people take longer to finish their meals due to the slow service, which you would think would be a big deal in a restaurant where available seating space is at a premium. The addition of a single waiter/waitress per shift would probably make a big difference. I like going to Austin's once in awhile as I do enjoy the food but can understand why some people don't want to take a chance on having a sub-par experience with their hard earned dollars. Which brings us to Austin's "saving grace"... Sunday Brunch. Contrary to the overpriced dinner menu, their Sunday Brunch buffet is inexplicably UNDERpriced at $9.99 which includes beverage! You can order an included omelet or Belgian waffle from the kitchen as part of your brunch plus they have the standard bacon, sausage links, scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, some pastries/desserts and some fruit. Not a huge selection by any means but it's "all you can eat". I'm a big fan of Sunday Brunch and although this isn't my absolute favorite, it's the best bang for the buck that I know of - hard to go wrong for $10!

Our Last Trip To Austin's!! Ever!!

My family and I went to Austin's last night for dinner. When the food came out, it was only my steak dinner and my wife's steak dinner. They did not bring out my kids' chicken tenders and fries. The waitress sat down the steaks and said that the children's food would be right out. Since like most people, when I go out to dinner with the family, I like to eat with the family, I waited on their meals before I would eat my dinner. After 10 minutes, I got up and chased down the manager and he confessed that the waitress did not put in my children's meal. So their food finally came and my wife and I ate our now luke-warm steaks. The manager apologized and said that he would adjust the bill. When the bill came, our steaks which were priced $12.75 on the menu were now $15.75 each and their adjustment was not charging us for both kids' meals. The total was $49.64 and we paid with a $50 gift certificate. As we were putting on our coats, the manager came over and apologized once again, then said that the gift certificate does not cover tax and that we would have to pay for the tax in cash and have a Happy New Year. You would think that after such bad service that they wouldn't have enough nerve to come to our table and say that. I just reached into my wallet, grabbed the $4 to cover the taxes and looked at my wife and told her that this is the last time that they will ever see us!! There are better steakhouses in the area. Take your pick!!

Surprise it was good..

Saturday December 6 I went to Austin's with some friends, wasn't looking forward to it after googling and reading reviews but they wanted to go there.Place was pretty busy,we had to wait for a table which was fine we sat at the bar until our table was ready. We had Amanda as our server, she was awesome. There was a larger party waiting to be seated as well, they sat at the bar next to us,less than friendly to the staff there but I guess that's to be expected. The server that had that family was gracious and accomodating despite the rude way they were treating her during their visit. At one point the manager came out due to the attitude of the party and he was overly generous with them we thought. We were sat right near them so we had a front row seat. Our dinners were great, service was great. We will be back

Great Neighborhood Eatery and Pub

My wife and I have been going to Austins for many years. The staff has always been accommodating and never have we encountered anyone rude. At anytime there was never a problem correcting an order and the corrections was done without question or attitude. In fact I have witnessed times when a patron would eat half of their meal and then complain and request a refund. This type of action is not only unwarranted but borders on fraud! Those who have complained probably do the same at any eatery.

what a disapointment

there were 4 of us who dined at Austin's on Saturday night. Not one of us enjoyed the dining experience. We waited and waited for our server. Finally we ordered and waited and waited. We ate their plain rolls and then ate more rolls. We finished our drinks and then another round of drinks. Finally the food arrived over cooked tastless -one ordered staek was raw even though it was ordered medium rare with garlic. No garlic. The server was in another world. We complained and asked for the manger.never showed up to are table. I think there is definaly an issue at this place-but never agin for us.

terrible food and service-yikes

we visited austins on saturday-March 6th. After waiting 20 minutes in a very small cramped lobby area we were seated in the middle of the restuarant. The restaurant was crowed -we were bumped several times by people and wait staff walking by . The food came out wrong-------the steak had no taste. The rolls which use to be corn bread were white doughy cold. The wait staff could care less if were happy or needed anything.I think for the outrageous prices they charge the service and food would be much better.Never the less we wont be back.

I wrote a letter to mangement and never received a response. We wer echarged extra for a baked pototao and a side salad when it was inculdd in the meal price.I asked for the minumum to be refunded and no response to that either.I can spend my money at other restaurants and would respect me as a repeat customer.
