Glad to have you back Mexican Village!
My wife and I noticed right away the great attention we received from our servers. The food taste and that salsa was awesome. I am glad they kept the traditional look to the restaurant. They made me an excellent margarita and even helped my wife appreciate that she can have a Long Island iced tea with sugar free Coke to comply with her diabetic needs. She will try that next time. The portions were excellent as well. Thanks, Dan and Patrice.

Mexican Village is back!!!! ....Yes it's true Mexican Village is back !!!
My parents and I, just returend home after having dinner @ Mexican Village. The owner greeted us upon entering the restuarant, as well as his wife(Sandra)came to our table several times to ensure everything was fine! Mom, Dad and I really enjoyed our dinner.
It was slow, but probably because of the Browns game was on TV and secondly it was their "soft opening" GRAND OPENING IS FROM MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th through WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7th and everything will be 1/2 off!!!
My parents order Camaroones A Ajo con arrozo(Garlic Shimp over rice)and I order La Cazuela de La Casa con arrozo(Steak strip in a satuee of green/red peppers, mushrooms and onions over rice). Overall, I give the "New" Mexican Village a 10+ great food, great prices, great friends! We'll definitely will becoming back many, many time agaiin

New owners vacating?
Yes...Original owners sold the restaurant, including the name,in about Jan. 2009...and it hasn't been the same since. They eventually changed their name and became a sports bar.
HOWEVER, I just saw a note on their marquee today saying MEXICAN VILLAGE COMING SOON. Could it be that the ORIGINAL is returning. Let's hope!!

It's all gone now....
Haven't been on the west side in ages. Had some time to kill on the way to pick up friends at the airport and thought I would stop at my favorite Mex rest. Whatever is there now isn't even remotely Mexican anything. Just a bar with a new name and one customer. They had no clue about what happened to the Mexican Village or any clue about anything else. If anyone knows what happened to Liv and her husband (the chef/cook) let's hear about it.

WE LEFT.
Tried to order peach margarita.."we don't have that anymore'. Tried to order Dos Equis on tap.."we didn't get that this week'. Tried to order Dos Equis in bottle.."we ran out". Finally, got some kind of beer.
Tried to order Chicken Mole..."we don't offer anything on page three of the menu". We drank...we left.

A sad day in Cleveland
For those of you that don't remember, this is the second location M V had in Cleveland. When I started going to them they were on Broadview Rd. just South of Pearl. That was in the 70's. Since then they have been one of the best Mexican retaurants around. That is until now. They still use the same old menu but that's the only thing that remains from the old M V. The food is not even close to what it used to be. We ordered wet ground beef burritos and you would think the waitress would have had the sense to say "what does wet mean" but no, a plain old dry burrito that looked like it just came from taco bell came out. It was much smaller than the old gut buster they used to have, tasted nothing like the old one, and I have to agree with "Tribe Fan" stating that the refried beens look like they just came out of a can. There was another couple in there that had the same dissapointed reaction to the "quality" of the food. The waitress confirmed that it has a new owner. They might have a chance if they would have kept their old cook but it's obvious that it's a whole new place. One that I will never go to again and I'm pretty sure won't last long. Cheryl from Twinsburg, I'm glad you had a chance to try it before now. If by some chance the old owners and or cook are at another restaurant, please post it here so we can come to you. There really should be some kind of sign outside like "WARNING" new owners. Again, a sad, sad day in Cleveland!!!!

Must have new owners
This place must be under new owners. The mexican village I knew was an awesome mexican restaurant. The one I visited tonight is not the same place anymore, not even close. The food was terrible, the cooks are obviously not mexican. The refried beans were straight from the can, and the "mexican" flavor was missing from all the dishes. We waited over an hour for our food and there were only two other tables seated. The new owners had signs promoting Jazz and R&B music which is a sign that the new owners are looking for a different type of customer.

Are we talking about the same place??
We went to the Mexican Village restaurant on Sunday evening to celebrate a brithday. The restaurant wase bare--as in not a single decoration on the wall and no customers in the restaurant area. The wait staff had absolutely no idea what they were doing. We had to tell them what the food itmes were when they brought them to the table. We had ordered chicken and beef chimmies and they didn't know which was which and said "just cut into it to see". When the food was delivered the waitresses had no idea who had ordered what and we ended up passing the plates around the tables. One person at our table never received their food and went home hungry. The menues and chips baskets had old dried salsa on them. The barmaid didn't know "if they carry Miller Lite beer". It was by far the worst restaurnt experience I have EVER had. I can't even rate the food because I was so upset about the surrounding and service I couln't eat. OBVIOUSLY there is a new owner that has absolutely no interest in keeping this a MEXICAN restaurant.

Mexican Village Restaurant best food and entertainment
Just want to let the world know that I went to dinner at Mexican Village Restaurant and has the BEST mexican cuisine ever with the most friendly staff I have to yet encounter and I freqent many restaurants. The atmosphere is so relaxing with a sports bar to watch my fav basketball team "GO CAVS" and after that I went downstairs and danced the night away with line dance, hand dance, and just dance to old school and new school music. OH HOW I ENJOYED MY VISIT. I was so full of food, I was happy to know I could go downstairs and dance it off.
