Not Worth The Price
I shop @ the market fairly frequently and have gone to the cafe about 5 times. Unfortunately, the food was consistently well below average in taste and well overpriced. The service, if it can be called that, is really pretty awful. The last time I went, which is the LAST time I will ever go, I went with my 2 young kids. After waiting for 10 minutes during a non busy time, I asked if I could order drinks for my antsy kids. The girl told me that since she wasn't my server, she couldn't take a drink order, and that the bartender would have to. The bartender apparently couldn't do it either. After waiting 15 minutes without acknowledgment, I gave up and left. The staff is so horrible. I wish I could say it was better, but honestly, this is probably the worst run cafe on the planet. I would not eat there again if the meal was free and I was being paid to do it. Don't buy the prepared food in the market either. It is pretty horrible. If you want good prepared healthy food for lunch, go to either the Farmer's Market on Miles or to Trader Joes or Wild Oats.

Both Mustard Seed Markets - the original in Montrose and the newer Solon store - cater to health-food enthusiasts who shun chemical preservatives, artificial flavorings and other ingredients not found in nature. But the stores also appeal to mainstream tastes, especially in these diet-conscious times. The restaurants at both locations satisfy the appetite, whether it's grilled tofu you're looking for or crab-stuffed trout. At the Solon cafe, for instance, the pistachio-crusted chicken entree is served with a cranberry and Granny Smith apple chutney over maple-whipped sweet potatoes infused with tangerine oil; the warm spinach and Swiss chard salad comes with croutons, pickled shallots and balsamic dressing, topped with a choice of melted GruyÅre, grilled tempeh strips or crumbled natural bacon.
