The menu has grown since Nemo Grille opened four years ago in the century-old Clemens Alten home, located in the heart of Avon's historic French Creek District. A bill of fare that began with classic Italian dishes now showcases more traditional American favorites. Appetizers on the spring menu include barbecued shrimp and grits, as well as a fromage plate highlighting the chef's daily selection of cheeses. If it's available, try the asparagus soup, a velvety mixture of fresh cream and pureed asparagus, sprinkled with white cheddar cheese. Also recommended are the braised Nieman Ranch pork shanks, which arrive cooked to fork-tenderness. Desserts include homemade crÅme br?lee, carrot cake and cheesecakes. Several microbrewed beers are available on tap, and there is an extensive wine list; a martini menu offers a variety of concoctions in such fun flavors as Key lime.
