How can anyone not like this place?
My husband and I have been to Osteria a few times and are going again tonight for his birthday. We love this place, the food, and the people. Yes it is a bit loud if the place is packed, but if you want quiet, stay home. We pick Osteria over any place in Little Italy except for Michaelangelo's.
And if the reader above who said $50 is expensive for two wine, soup and entree's, you should be going to TGI Fridays, not a restaurant downtown!

Response to Don't Bother
Spence - The restaurant is small and we had a large group which is why the we could not accomodate the request. Oh so bad you had to sit a the four top by the window and the owner bought you dessert and sent over lemoncello to try to make up for you not getting your requested table.

Don't bother - there are better places nearby
I just had my 6th dinner at Osteria last night (for $130 plus tip). For a short time, this was my and my husband's favorite restaurant (we are Cleveland residents). Since last night .... not so much. In a nutshell, our reservation request for a specific table, made well in advance, was ignored, our protests were dismissed, and the food was amateurishly prepared and presented. To top it all off, I opened my leftover container a few minutes ago thinking it would be my dinner - AND MY FISH IS MISSING!! They gave me my leftover mashed potatoes and my green beans, but not my halibut. This is either a case of really incompetent staff or a one-fingered salute. There are many excellent restaurants in this area, I suggest you choose one of those. (Hint: Crop Bistro - that's where we will have our next night out. XO is another excellent option.)

Delicious!
Although this restaurant is pricey, you will love the service and the food! I have been there multiple times and I must say Chef Pete is an asset. Ask your server to have him "feed" you, and you will be in for a gastronomical treat you will not soon forget. Oh, and trust the wine recommendations as they are right on.
