Never Again!
Many years ago I ate a Pufferbelly's on a monthly basis and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. After returning to the area, I decided to try the restaurant again, remembering how much I had enjoyed it in the past. What a huge disappointment! The food was ok, but the service was horrible. The service was extremely slow, and the waitress was rude. I have not been back, and don't intend to return.

Beware of local restaurant SCAM
I have dined at the Pufferbelly Restaurant in Kent several times and it has always been at least satisfactory. The food, atmosphere and prices are all acceptable but the last time I visited I was very appalled and shocked at how they handled their business. My brother and I both received a $38 gift certificate for Christmas which we planned on using that night (2-16-08), which we did. My bill came to $20 while his was $24. When the waitress returned after about a ten minute wait after receiving the gift certificates she said something to the effect that we were paid up and "good to go." We were of course dumbfounded because as with all restaurants you receive some sort of cash back, whether in cash or another gift certificate. So we asked where the change is, she responded that the gift certificate was a "Coupon" and good for a one time-visit only! Very sneaky, we had no idea of this policy and frankly we think they were lying because we could see her from where we were standing, fumbling around in the back near the register for about ten minutes. So in other words the remaining $18 worth of food that was on the certificate was stolen and the remaining $14 of my brothers was stolen. I would have no qualms about their coupon policy if they told you when you gave them gift certificate that you would not receive change, because then I could order more food to go to reach my limit. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!

Pufferbelly Restaurant
We eat at the Pufferbelly at least once every week and enjoy the varied menu, reasonable prices and tasty cuisine. Over the past ten years, we have introduced many friends to this restaurant. We look forward to the variety of "Specials" offered as well as the regular menu. The friendliness of the staff, as well as the good service are two features of the Pufferbelly the bring us back week after week. The ambiance of the Pufferbelly is certain to create an enjoyable dining experience for history buffs as well as those who enjoy a charming, tastefully decorated establishment.

Catch the train to Pufferbelly
Pufferbelly is housed in an old railway station. It has very high ceilings, plenty of room, almost like something out of a Clint Eastwood wester. The food is good, as is the service. The Sunday brunch has a little bit of everything. The dishes tend to seafood. Prices are moderate. It is located on the scenic Cuyahoga river overlooking a waterfall in Kent.
