Pittsburgh Benihana
Just wanted everyone to know that Pittsburgh also has the same shrimp sauce that several Ohio stores do. They too were once a Samuri and keep that GREAT shrimp sauce. We once thought Pittsburgh was the only one but after reading several articles I have noticed there are several Benihana that keep that recipe. That was the best move because it's the BEST!!!!!!

One Of A Kind Restaurant
Recently remodeled this Japanese Restaurant is the bomb! However, are a few secrets one might want to know before ordering that I must share. First, this restaurant was once called the Samurai then Bennihana bought it. They took away a very popular pink dipping sauce for seafood and almost went bankrupt. They were forced to bring back the Seafood Sauce and to this very day it is the only Bennihana in the United States that serves this delicious sauce. Also for a few dollars extra one has to order the fried rice, totally worth it. It completes the dinner. Plan for lots of extra time to dine. One can not be in a hurry to eat when going here it takes at least an hour or longer to be served and eat. Please don't add salt or pepper to the food as this is an insult to the chef whom is specially trained to prepare this extrodinary Japanese food. One last bit of advice! Ask the wait staff to help teach the table to eat with the wooden chop sticks. It is an adventure and fun. They say that the metal on the fork reacts with the seasonings and sauces on the food to wit it changes the taste for the worst. Great place for a first date or a special occasion.

Go for lunch
The lunch boat special is quite a deal. There's not a lot of food, but a great variety, and it is a satisfying amount of food. You get a few pieces of sushi, choice of salmon or chicken off the hibachi, vegetable tempura, edamame, rice, salad, miso soup, a few pieces of california roll and some fruit for $9.25. The quality of the food is above average, however, the last time I went the edamame was cold and not salted (maybe this is the preference of some). The restaurant has just been remodeled and it is beautiful, especially the stone facade on the bar. Some of the lunch time clientele were strange, one would expect to find mostly office workers in business attire. However, the majority of the lunch crowd was very, very casually attired people who apparently had no where to go in a hurry. Normal sushi servings are small and overpriced. Drinks are weak and overpriced. I haven't tried the hibachi. Overall, a solid deal for weekday lunch but I might skip visiting for dinner or the weekends.

The culinary showcase - with genial chefs flashing knives, flipping shrimp and building little smoking ""volcanoes"" out of onion rings - is a big draw at Benihana. So is the shrimp sauce, which diners ladle freely onto their chicken, beef, and fried or steamed rice. Nearly as addicting is the ginger dressing. If it weren't for decorum and an unwillingness to startle fellow diners, one would want to slurp the last of it from the salad bowl. Luckily, every course is tasty at Benihana, which is probably why it's a favorite place for all kinds of occasions. Celebrants get dinner and a show rolled into one.
