Don't make any assumptions about Sergio's based on size: The tiny carriage house (which doubles in capacity during warm weather, thanks to patio seating) consistently turns out entrees with big, bold flavor. Many of the items on Sergio Abramof's menu hail from Brazil and other points south of the border, such as pao de queijo, a tasty appetizer of Brazilian cheese puffs with carioca relish. Those who can still manage to enjoy a plate of pasta in these carb-conscious times (go on - just this once) can savor the orecchiette pasta with applewood-smoked chicken, spinach and a buttery four-cheese sauce. Otherwise, order the xim xim - chicken and shrimp braised with peppers, tomato, carrots, coconut milk and malaguetta pepper. Beef and seafood in bracingly inventive preparations round out the dinner menu. Sergio's also offers a children's menu for younger diners.
