Their Sushi is the BEST!!
It was true Japanese Sushi taste. I was not expected that I could taste true fresh sushi in the middle of Cleveland. We ordered two large bottles of beer, Shinano Roll(very large 4 peices), Volcano Roll, Spicy Tenpra roll, negihamachi roll.
We loved their appatizers, too. We ordered fried soft shell crab and Negi ma yaki. We thought it was not as expensive as other Japanese Sushi resturants.
Their atomosphere is more relax and casual.

We received very small portions, 4 pieces of Nigiri, sushi was not fresh, and two pieces of stale california role 6 pieces all together for $8.95. Waitress did not specify only 6 pieces, and no salad. My lunch mate's chicken teriyaki was awful. Worst Japanese lunch ever! We left hungry and in shock, could not believe we spent $27 for NOTHING! Been eating Japanese Food since 1987.

I strongly disagree with the lunch review. I love Shinano; I have never had sushi there that was not fresh. Also, remember if the menu does not say "comes with salad," it doesn't, and rolls always come in six pieces.

In a strip mall ACROSS from Richmond Towne Center. Good Japanese food in a serene easy going atmosphere. Good sushi and sashimi but the noodle dishes and apps are fantastic. The grilled squid and the battered squid "fingers" are great. The fried oysters are good and the oysters on the half shell are some of the best I've had anywhere. The soba (buckwheat) noodles, served hot or chilled are a must. Service not always great if busy, but always sincere, the waitresses and Sushi chefs really DO care. An attitude that is often times lacking in more snobby establishments.

Great little place on Cleveland's East Side. Sushi chefs are professional and personable. They will make sure you know what you are getting if you order very "different" things such as Natto or Sato Imo. Good selection of items at Sushi bar. Selection of kitchen food is also very good. The Strip Steak Shinano comes with a Japanese style steak sauce for dipping, Great! I loved the Seafood skewers, the Shrimp Tempura, and the Japanese Curry with Pork cutlet. Noodle dishes and sukiaki are also great options. Service is friendly and caring. Also noticed many Japanese diners on each visit.
