Lakewood location!
I really like this addition to the Warren Road Shopping Center. Soups and salads, even potato pancakes. The soups are all over salted. Maybe some people like that, but I've tried most of their soups, I go about 1 time a week due to proximity and I've yet to try one that isn't over salted. The gumbo is the worst. It's tough bc the soups are good just way too salty. I do recommend the blached asparagus salad: the tomato olive vin is so good I've bought it in bulk just to have at home. The bread is fresh daily. Great little place, just ease up on the salt.

This sounds really snobby but it always amazes me how Clevelanders go bonkers over mediocre food. The Soupermarket has some kinks to work out IMO - the one in Lakewood is the one I'm referring to. For example: 1) Why does everything have to be hot (spicy?) Take Fisherman's broth for example. It loses the delicate taste of the seafood by overspicing it. Plus the day I had it, it was so salty I almost threw it out. Way too many potatoes and the shrimp was overcooked from being heated so long. 2) The gazpacho - too. much. thickener. Really way too much. 3) Shrimp Ceviche - again, too much with the hot-spicy thing. This one of course is personal preference but most of the things I've had are over-spiced (hot). The bread is excellent. I keep eating there because I think they have a lot of potential and I haven't had enough selections yet to say no. But the Fisherman's Broth has almost thrown me over the edge.

My one and only complaint is their gazpacho soup. I should of know I wouldnt like it when I saw the corn . That ended up in the garbage disposal. Other than that ,yes their soups are great! And I love the crusty bread (Flying Fig) that comes with it.

I'm addicted to this place. The homemade salad dressings are perfect, especially the lemon vinagrette. I've had the bisque, the jambalaya (many times)and the gazpacho. Good to the last spoonful. I seriously could live off of the Souper Market. And everyone is very friendly taking your order. It's really a carry out place, but you don't really want people to watch you eat this stuff. All manners are thrown aside as you'll want to drink from the bowl.
