Maybe the BEST in Ohio!
My family dines out 3-4 times per week. Due to a hectic schedule and the fact that we believe it is less expensive to dine out. Let me clarify that...the value of what you get for the money, plus what it would cost to duplicate at home. I LOVE this Medina Landmark Restaurant. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The drinks are Monsters and priced low in comparison to other fine restaurants. The Steaks I understand are cut right there and are amazing for the size and price. I could not buy any steak like the ones they offer at the grocery for any price! Plus, all their dinners come with a salad choice, two sides, and fresh baked rolls, too. Nobody offers fresher seafood selections in the area either. I have to mention, they do in fact have The Best Prime Rib anywhere, and as for BBQ< Best ribs I have found. I order them as an appetizer for the family!
Almost everytime we decide to go out for dinner, either my wife or the kids say Steves Dakota Grill. They never get an argument out of me!

complete let down
when first opened is was a great place, didnt have to wait too long, very courtious staff and food was excellent.anymore they seem to get by with the few people they actually served well with good food, our last two experiences at the grill the steak my wife ordered came out undercooked,we sent it back, when it returned it was burnt on one side they flipped it over and put some kind of sauce to hide it,they said they would comp the bill, they took off just the price of the steak,we had to pay for the shrimp and vegtables that came with the meal, when asked to see the manager they said he was too busy.and as for the staff, very rude waiters that dont care about anything but the tip and the group after us.as for the atmosphere, inside is beautiful.i personally do not recomend steves grill, over priced food, poor service.

Waste of a Drive!
I drove 20 miles from Cleveland to get there! Was not impressed. The food was average. I ordered Steak Masala, the sauce was like gravey from salisbury steak. I've had great Chicken Marsala from John Q's downtown Cleveland.
Our waitress, Kathy was pushy, impatient and rude. It is one thing to be helpful, but we felt we had to inhale our salads, she was at the table every 2 minutes, not exaggerating! Then, a person in our party made a comment about it being warm in there, our watiress Kathy says.."Yeah, I'm going through that time now also with the hot flashes!" How rude is that!!! So..I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Maybe the people in Medina love it soo much because they dont come out of the "bubble" much and dont know any better, but as for me, I'll stay to places I know are great!

The Best Prime Rib ANYWHERE!
For a place that’s located on a very remote stretch of Pearl Road, Steve’s always packs them in and with good reason. One is the lodge-like atmosphere of the place and the other is hands down, the BEST prime rib that will ever meet your palate! My wife and I have dined at Steve’s countless times and as much as the rest of their menu looks very good and their specialties of the day usually sound phenomenal, I have never strayed from ordering the prime rib and have never been disappointed with my choice. Slow roasted and cut and served to order like a large strip steak with au jus, it is as tender and delicious as any prime rib I’ve had anywhere else in America! The largest size on the menu is 16 oz., but for anyone with a heartier appetite, they will cut as large a serving as you want, charging slightly extra per ounce past 16 oz. I usually order a 20 ounce and savor every bite.
One word of warning is that Steve’s is usually an absolute mob scene on Friday and Saturday evenings. We’ve waited as long as 2 ˝ hours for a table on the weekend and bar service during these times is slow at best. You might think about ordering a couple drinks at a time as you could be waiting 10-15 minutes before you catch a bartender again when the place is that loaded (no pun intended).
We generally try to go during the week when there is little to no wait for a table for dinner and it tends to be a less rushed experience than most weekends. As far as the owner, he has always been nothing but cordial and accommodating and has always taken the time to stop by every table at least once to ask how things are. HIGHLY recommended for lovers of prime rib and Steve’s has plenty of ambiance to boot.

Owner is rude..Terrible Experiance
I went here for my birthday with about 10 people. We spent close to $400 dollars and after eating the owner came out and yelled at the poor waiter for offering us dessert because we had been there an hour and he wanted to turn the table. All of this quite loudly and right in front of us and other customers. Will never go back there again.

Awesome Grille
I have eaten and drank at the Grille several times, never once had a bad drink or food. The owner is very personable and comes around to check on things, when he has time, which the restaurant is usually very busy, but he has always spoke to me and my Fiancee. We will continue to go there and enjoy the atmosphere and great food and fabulous Drinks and smiling face service.

Best Place to Bring Your appetite!
I like to eat. By looking at me, you would not guess that. When we dine out, I always try the local spots. I do not do "hyped up" chain restaurants. I support the people that live right here. The Best I have found is the Steve's Dakota Grill in Medina. They are locally owned and operated, and deliver the biggest bang for the buck! They have a great lodge atmosphere, very clean, great staff and friendly service. The menu is a home run. There is something for everyone: a child's menu, fresh cut steaks, fresh seafood, nice pasta offerings, huge salads, THE BEST PRIME RIB ANYWHERE,and over the top desserts! The best part is the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Portions are large, everything is made to order and it is all fresh. Even the bar prices are way below what others charge. My family never walks out of Steve's hungry or broke! I do recommend to try them on the weekdays, because Friday and Saturdays are a busy.

Let Down
We heard a lot of hype about Dakota's Grill, Both my wife and I were let down. The Food was served cold, and the waitress was rude. I had ordered the Chateaubrien which was chilled when arriving. My Wife had ordered a Filet Medium which came out Rare and cold. The Atmosphere was decent, food was a let down.

Medina County's Best!
We went to Steve's Dakota last year for my birthday last July and now it is our favorite restaurant around. The steaks are tender and tasty, the prime rib is excellent and the portions are big enough for another meal. We have always liked Outback, but after Steve's Dakota, it's a disappointment. The service was great and very personal.
I hope we can go to Steve's again this July for my birthday!

Great times, Great times
Steve's has some of the best, if not best steaks around. All the other food is excellent as well. The Atmoshphere in there is very nice, rustic and relaxing. Price is no more expensive than going to a chain steakhouse/restaurant. There is almost always a wait, but it is worth it for sure.

Rip Off!
Ordered an appetizer which was OK and martinis which were good. The steaks were awful and the service was worse.
We complaained and were treated very poorly. To top the whole miserable experienced off-when I received my credit card statement I was charged an extra $10.00. I submitted proof of the overcharge to Steve's owner and I am still waiting for this matter to be resolved. It has been going on for weeks-very frustrating!

Overrated
I prefer the Pine Tree Inn that occupied the place before Steve's. Not terrible but if you expect anything out of the ordinary...forget it. Uninteresting in all respects except the room. Usual basic Ohio crap sold as being upscale.

a little known gem!
We happen to be going down rt.42 and found Steve's Dakota Grill and we are glad we did!Everything is wonderful here, until I came here I didn't even know how good a steak could taste when it is properly cooked and seasoned and for a great price $22.00 avg the menu is very diverse from pasta to steak to seafood. The crab legs a heaping plate full for market price at the time of $32.00 there is so much on your plate you can't eat it all.You feel like you are in a cabin eating with friends and it doesn't mattter if you have children or are wearing shorts or a siut, you are welcome here. They have a wonderful staff and management team which you actually see walking the dinning room and talking to customers. There is no other place I will eat a steak.
