YAY! I'm going to Swenson's
My boyfriend is from Akron, so obviously, on my 1st trip there, he had to introduce me to the Swenson burger. And on my 2nd trip, we had his brother pick some up so they would be waiting for us when we got there. I am about to make my 3rd trip and my mouth has been watering for a Swenson burger for atleast a week now. Can't wait to take my 17 year old daughter there for her 1st shot at one of them. It just doesn't get much better than that. It's just one of those one of a kind experiences you have to taste to understand. If you get near Akron, you must make it a point to try this. Not sure about the atmosphere at this point because so far we have always gotten carry out. However, this next trip is not a rushed trip so maybe we'll get to dine in this time.

Galley Burger, Orgasmic
I worked for Verizon for over 27 years, and could not wait until I had a customer in the Akron/Montrose area that I needed to visit. I would stop at Swenson’s for a Galley Burger.
I can't remember what it costs, but it wouldn't make a difference. It was reasonable, and the service was awesome. And you can't beat the olive stuck into the top with a toothpick.
Drive-In, turn on your lights and your order was taken. The servers ran to your cars, and if you forgot to turn off your lights, they'd come running back to see if you needed anything else.
My friends in Marion, Ohio would look forward to my return. We often thought that a Swenson’s would take off in Marion, but I’ve since moved to Indiana and wonder if Swenson franchises are available?
I could make a fortune from just my consumption.
Are franchise’s available?
I miss them so much!!!

Akron's Hamburger King
Anyone who likes burgers and lives in Akron could write this review themselves. Swenson's is the "King of the Hill" when it comes to tasty burgers in Akron. (That's saying a lot, because there are a lot of good local burger stands in this town!)
I've never had the "Galley Boy", believe it or not, but I have had the good old fashioned cheeseburger. Usually two or three of 'em. They melt in your mouth almost literally.
There's a McDonald's across the street from the Wallhaven Swenson's, and it shouldn't even be in the same city. Highly recommended.

Galley "BOY" are those Burgers Good!
Ever since I can remember, I've had the delightful pleasure of sinking my teeth in one of those famous trade-mark "Galley Boy" burgers from Swenson's drive in! I guess you could say Im just lucky to live in Akron! Aside from the awesome taste of the food and friendly quick service, I've noticed a frightening trend. I ALWAYS make it a point to engage a conversation with most of the servers. Maybe I do it to give them a little breather since of course the tradition is for them to sprint from car to car. It seems that the servers I've befriended over the years all agree they love their job, but the top level management is extremely insensitive and almost ruthless when it comes to making mistakes and learning new tasks, which bothers me TREMENDOUSLY! So aside from that, I give Swenson's Drive-In an A+ for Taste and an A+ for service! Go check em out! Its quite a neat experience!
