Ruined my birthday
Seating was cramped. Waiters had to turn sideways to get by. Food was very average but expensive. Onion soup was a let down. Not even covered with cheese.
Web page says 5 star 5 diamond cuisine. They should be sued for false advertizing.
In the middle of the meal a southern rock band started playing. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk. We won't be going back.

With its blue-tiled exterior, the Tangier is a distinctive landmark on Akron's West Market Street. The spacious venue is many things to many people: a catering facility for benefits, weddings and other events; a concert hall; a lively lounge; and, of equal importance, a white-tablecloth fine-dining establishment. A marble fountain graces the center of the dining room, which features cherry wood and marble accents, a mural of country scenes, and leaded and stained glass. Starters include classic French onion soup with a GruyÅre crouton, traditional Caesar salad and the Tangier Lebanese sampler, which includes hummus, tabbouleh and stuffed grape leaves. Entrees range from the pan-roasted filet mignon with demi-glace and Dijon herb-crusted New Zealand rack of lamb to lobster tails and grilled Atlantic salmon. The Bistro Bar has its own menu, including the ""famous"" Tangier sauerkraut balls with honey mustard. Several dozen wines are available, 16 by the glass.
