Staff unresponsive
Our experience at the restaurant and inn were mediocre. The food was good, but overpriced. The "honeymoon suite" was very standard, nothing special. However, upon registering a followup quality/billing complaint, I was totally ignored by the staff. They did not return phone calls, and when I did catch them in they did not follow through as they said they would. This is inexcusable. A big disappointment.

One of Cleveland's fine-dining gems, the Baricelli Inn boasts incredible food, exemplary service and several lovely dining rooms (including two with Victorian-era fireplaces surrounded by mantels of fine carved wood and ceramic tile). Virtually flawless meals start with a complimentary tasting, such as zucchini slices paired with a sampling of Paul Minnillo's artisan cheeses, all wrapped with ribbon-thin strips of yellow squash. The sauteed walleye makes the diner thankful to be so close to Lake Erie: Simply seasoned with fresh cracked pepper, the mild, micro-green-topped filets recline on roasted redskin potatoes, all floating on a pool of impeccable sherry beurre blanc. Roasted chicken sounds irresistible on the menu, and the plate delivers - a boneless leg and breast with skin roasted to a lush, whiskey-toned amber, served with herbed cornmeal stuffing atop a velvet-rich chicken pan sauce. Save room for a light, bright dessert: The trio of housemade sorbets explode with intense fruit flavors of mango, raspberry and glorious Concord grape.
