Chance review
The PEI mussels are excellent. Fresh and clean with a hearty butter, garlic and saffron broth with chunks of chorizo sausage. the draft selection is small but the beers offered are worthy such as Dogfish Head 90' IPA. I'll always come here for mussels and Santo Paulo Marron.

Real Treemont
The Southside has the best indoor/outdoor patio in Treemont. The food ranges form great burgers (Kobe beef) to my favorite, duck pizza. Yes the service is "casual"... not overly smothering, fake, or trying to be four star. I've never had a bad meal at the southside and its my hidden 1st date spot.

Just visited to see the old hood
I really missed the old days when the standards and customer service were better. The cocktail server took too long before I got waited on, and am used to the 5 star restaurant quality of food. Sorry, but I calls 'em as i sees 'em. Gotta go, busy. Tom.

Mike is absolutely correct...
The South Side is a great place to dine... I love to leave downtown around 1 am and dashing over to the South Side on a night out and grabbing a quick after drinks bite, with another drink! The grouper sandwich and the chicken and waffle dish are my two favorites!

The South Side rocks
The South Side is the best casual dining place in Tremont. I've eaten there many times and I've always had a fine experience. Their burgers are the best and I am a big fan of the grouper sandwich. They also serve the best chicken and waffles.

One of my favorites!
The South Side is one of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland. The food is good and it is what you would expect from a casual restaurant. It is not fine dining. I always go for one of the sandwiches. The Tremont burger is enormous and served with a knife through the center to keep it together, but I also love the grilled romaine salad. It is different than your regular salad and the spicy caeser dressing tops it off right. I have always been served with a smile. I prefer when the wait staff isn't all over my table but attentive to my needs and this is what I have normally experienced.
The atomosphere keeps me coming back. The music and casual feel make you feel comfortable.

ready for KITCHEN NIGHTMARES on TV
Let me preface this review with the fact that I contacted the restaurant regarding my dining experience via their website and as of today Saturday January 19th there has been no response.
So, Sunday evening January 6th, I decided that to treat myself to a meal in the Tremont area. I caught a glimpse of the place in the PD and thought it might be worth checking out. The atmosphere blends in extremely well with the Tremont bar and dining scene. The lighting and music was right and they have a side enclosed patio dining area with a fire place. Sunday night not the place was not busy, I had the whole enclosed patio to myself. I kicked back ordered a black and gold along with a featured dinner the roasted red snapper with garlic spinach and risotto.
Outside of the cheeriness of the hostess, the waitress was basically a droid, lacking personality and any concern over my dining experience. I was hoping that the meal would offset that lethargic service by the waitress, but unfortunately that was not the case. The red snapper and spinach were fine, but the meal was ruined by a extremely greasy risotto, typical of risotto that has sat and is not freshly made.
So given the reputation of the Tremont are for good food and drinks, this establishment might as well close down the kitchen and just focus on keeping the tap running or we just might see this place on KITCHEN NIGHTMARES….good luck if you dare dine there, I hope your experience is better than mine.

Will never eat here again
Today was the first time I went to the restaurant. The food left a lot to be desired. First we asked that that tomato jam be put on the side instead of the burger. That didn't happen. Then we ordered the duck and goat cheese salad. The server never told me that they were out of goat cheese and they replaced it with parmesan - yuk. I then ordered the Bison chili which was very dry. The presentation of the food was nonexistent. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing but I was sorely disappointed. Oh yes the iced tea in the plastic cups leaves a lot to be desired at lunch. Our table was dirty when we sat down.

Thanks to persevering owner Sherman DeLozier, the space once known as the Hi & Dry appears finally to have reclaimed some long-lost consistency. Now called the South Side, the restaurant's extensive interior renovations have given the aged warehouse space new life without wholly stripping away the previous one. An S-shaped granite bar draws diners into the room, and the warm copper highlights are a natural complement to walls of exposed brick. The menu splits the difference between upscale casual and neighborhood tavern nicely. Build-your-own-burgers are a hearty handful, to be sure, but the horseradish crust on the salmon (not to mention the buttery mustard cream sauce) proves that the kitchen can pull off classier plates at will. Fresh-cut fries, either on their own or as a side dish, should not be missed.
