My husband had wanted to go to Blue Canyon for his bday. I called to make reservations and got a voice message. I actually called 10X...left a message twice. Already looking for another restaurant, I finally got a return call (4 days after the first message was left). She was pleasant and we got our reservation time for a Saturday evening. In the meantime, I had went and review after review and was skeptical. But, since it is hard to get my husband to pick somewhere to go, I figured we'd try it.
Service was very good once we arrived. There were 4 of us, including our 10 mos son. We were seated in The Kitchen, near the actual kitchen. Found the Levi jeans on all of the servers a little odd, but certainly did not affect the service.
We got drinks quickly and ordered our meals with salads. We each had the caesar salads- which was the worst part of the meal. The salads weren't bad, per se, but the were pretty bland. Just average. The meals, however, were excellent. Among us we had the pot roast, salmon, sirloin w/blue chees and crab legs. Food was excellent.
Place was clean- and since I retrieved a few items that fell from my son's area onto the floor, I noticed the floors were awfully clean too (even right by the kitchen). I did have to travel to the restroom in The Lodge for the diaper changing area, but no big deal. The set-up was obviously not created by a parent, but most restrooms aren't and I realize the restaurant doesn't get many diapered customers. So, no complaint there.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with the food! The message situation was annoying/lengthy to actually get the reservation, but the rest of the service was very good. We would certainly come again- food was worth it!

10/3/07 Met two business associates for lunch as a first time customer. Was met at the door by a pleasant hostess and impressed with the decor. We ordered two sandwich meals, one salad only and all had soup. Two of the soups came out in about 10 to 15 minutes. I had ordered the onion soup, cheese steak sandwich, caesar salad combo. When the two others got their soup I asked if there was another soup coming to which I was told that my soup would come with my entree. I asked if it could be brought out now and was told yes. This took about 10 minutes. In the mean time I ate some warmed dry (stale)rolls with some sort of green spread, which we all agreed to replace with butter. The onion soup was bland with a little cheese. The balance of our meals finally got to the table just over an hour after we had sat down. The cheese steak sandwich was a thin sliced steak that had been cut in small pieces then mixed with a melted cheese sauce with onions and peppers that were hardly recognizable due to overcooking . This sandwich definitely did not look appetizing and didn't taste much better. The total tab for our lunch was $58.00 including tip, with two of us drinking water. I do not know the reason for the slow service as the restaurant was not that busy. Great atmosphere - if I had a dog at home, I would have taken the sandwich to go.

My husband and I have been BC fans since they opened three years ago. We were used to consistently good food quality with friendly service every time we went there, and we even had our small post-wedding dinner there with 16 family members. To us, everything was great up until about a year ago, when the food quality and service had suffered for a short while, but not to the point where we wouldn't give them another chance. Thankfully, they rebounded earlier this year and in mid-April, we took our families (a total of 13 people) there for brunch after our son's baptism. We had a lovely server and the food was excellent. It was like going to the old BC we knew back when they first opened. When deciding where to go for Father's Day brunch, it was an easy choice for us to go back to BC. Sadly, this was an experience that surpassed our worst expectations.
It started off well enough. We arrived, were greeted by the nice hostess, and seated at a table in the Terrace, as requested. We were given our menus and told that our server would be right with us. Imagine our surprise when we opened our menus to find that we had been given the dinner menu at 11 AM in the morning. We looked around for our server to see if a mistake had been made, but were unable to find her. Our server finally graced us with her presence about eight minutes later. When questioned about the menus, she was clearly annoyed, curtly stating, "We don't have brunch. We have brunch *specials*." We told her we had eaten brunch there in April to which she responded, "Well, we still do have Sunday brunch, just not on the holidays. We serve the dinner menu all day to make it easier on the kitchen." I wanted to say, "Really? I thought it was to rip off your customers," but I held my tongue. Long story short, I paid $4 more for my burger because it was “a holiday”, we never got any bread or drink refills, and we were essentially ignored by our server so could chat with two of her coworkers by the bar. Thankfully one of the other servers was nice enough to refill my husband's coffee before he completely lost it. While we were unable to complain to the management that day (our 19 month-old son had to be taken home immediately), we promptly wrote and sent them a letter expressing our dissatisfaction with our experience. That was three weeks ago, and we are still awaiting their response. I am hoping that they will not continue to disappoint us, but I'm not so sure anymore. :(

This was our first visit to Blue Canyon and we were very impressed with surroundings upon arrival. I thought we had finally found a true gem after relocating to Cleveland. We were cordially greeted and told we would be seated shortly, even with a reservation we waited about 15 minutes but not a problem as it gave us time to admire the magnificent architecture. Stunning building! We were seated and the hostess was very cordial and professional, nice touch. Our waitress passed by twice never acknowledging us but 20 minutes later she finally approached our table and greeted us with a how ya'll doing tonight phrase? I questioned if she may be from the south and her reply was yeah south Miami! I had no clue if I offended her but she became abrasive. We ordered our cocktails and appetizers and to my dismay our appetizers arrived before our cocktails. Here we sit with wonderful appetizers, and (delicious by the way) and no drinks. We enjoyed the appetizers and 10 minutes later our drinks arrived with no apology or excuse just a here ya go guys-excuse me we are both female not guys. I explained to our waitress that I took offense in being referred to as a "guy" and she spouts back madame. At last we order dinner and the meal was a culinary masterpiece which may have been even better if we ever recieved our second drink or even a glass of water. Food 10! Atmosphere 10! Waitress -2!

I gotta side with the guy who said " I don't get it". The loud atmosphere could ruin the meal alone. They are overpriced and have a very limited menu. I live in Twinsburg and never go there anymore its highly overrated.

I had an outstanding lunch here on Friday.
At my server, Nicolette's suggestion, I ordered the rainbow trout with a pretzel crust, served with red potatoes and a spinich-pesto warm salad, finished with a stone-ground mustard, caper, butter sauce. The food was beautifully presented, served at the proper temperature and the tastes were magnificent. The rolls, seved with the entree, were warm and had a crispy crust, dotted with a mixture of tasty seeds. A special butter/cream cheese/ pesto mixture accompanied the rolls.
The hostess could have smiled more and been less haughty. Warm and down-to earth would have made a better introduction to the restaurant. The outdoor porch, where I was seated, had no feeling of warmth at all. I felt like it was an axillary storage area, only used when other dinning rooms were full. A few more plants and colorful pots may have done the trick. Go over to Trader Joes and see some beautiful examples of what I mean, in the Eaton Collection on Chagrin Boulevard in Woodmere.
My table had not been carefully wiped prior to the last seating. There was a sticky spot under where my right arm rested and there were crumbs on the table. The tablewear was spotted.
The saving grace of the service here, was the charm and sincere warmth of Nicolette, my server.
She and the Chef made for a delightful dinning experience which allowed me to override and forget the rest.
I can only hope that the owner will read this review, praise the server and the chef on duty and consider correcting the deficiencies.

This is a highy variable restaurant that has the ability to be great, but too often is bad. The last two visits there were wonderful with great food and excellent service. The 5 visits before that were bad on all acounts with some of the worst service, and marginal food. I know many people that refuse to go there anymore. I live here in Twinsburg, and desperately want a great restaurant, I wish this was that great restaurant all the time. The worst is when they forget how to make a good french fry! You wouldn't think a place like this COULD forget, but unfortinately they do.

I'm always amused when someone confuses the terms brunch and buffet and then gets upset as though the restaurant was the one that was mistaken. A brunch simply means a meal that combines choices from both a traditional lunch and traditional breakfast menu (hence the word BR+UNCH).
Anyway, the brunch menu, like all of the menus at Blue Canyon is a bit pricy but I've never had anything but an incredible meal, incredible view and amazing service. It is upscale, something that not everone is prepared to experience.
Best bets: Bloody Mary!!!, Lobster nachos--called an appetizer really a meal for two. Bib Wedge Lettuce Salad--get the buttermilk dressing.

I received a 100.00 gift certificate in 2005, and used it 3 times at lunch, My husband and I ordered different things everytime we dined. Place is overpriced and bland, not one thing stood out. The only thing we both really liked was the crawfish bisque. Now I see every radio station is offering 50.00 certificates for 25.00 to dine at this -upscale- establishment. We will not race back any time soon.

went to blue canyon in twinsburg for mother's day and was greatly disappointed ,again!i had made reservations for a mother's day brunch but when we were seated the dinner menu was on the table and the waitress offered some specials,pancakes and eggs.the old switcheroo!it took way too long to get a waitress to our table and when she was around too few visits to check on our needs.i ordered a 10 dollar hamburger which was soso with french fries that were soggy and dripping in grease, i couldn't eat more than a few.my wife ordered a fritatta,which was tasteless and dry,she sent it back.the waitress said they were going to stop offering it the rest of the day.a flat bread appetiser was quite good but overall our experience was not a pleasant one.we have been to the canyon a number of times and the wait staff has been consistently bad and the food prep uneven.i believe that was our last trip to the blue canyon.

What more could you ask for in a restaurant: fantastic food, great service, and decor like you have never seen before. The menu is very reasonably priced with a large variety. I have to keep going back to try something new. So far my favorite is the Pretzel Crusted Trout with a wholegrain mustard caper butter sauce for under eighteen dollars. I also get the Bibb wedge salad with blue cheese, warm maple bacon, and spiced pecans and the Maple Balsamic Dressing is amazing. Along with the menu are daily specials that the server describes table side before placing your order. This makes the decision even harder. And then comes the final course of this outstanding meal, the dessert. They are described by the servers and sound so delicious. My favorite is the Banana Cream Pie. It even came with banana bread!! I can't wait to go back once the leaves start changing colors and then the snow falls. To look out the huge windows from the dining room while enjoying a great meal. The atmosphere inside really gives you the feeling of home or a cozy log cabin. Every little detail inside and out of the place was skillfully designed to give it a warm feeling. Everything from a fireplace in the middle of the dining room to the pictures on the walls to the design of the chairs, tables, and light fixtures. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

I read the raving reviews in Cleveland Magazine. I saw how many categories Blue Canyon dominated in the Silver Spoon Awards. I wanted to check it out. Now that I have been there, I do not know if I have ever seen a more over-hyped, over-rated restaurant in my life. Having a reservation was useless, since we still waited at least thirty minutes for a table. The ad in Cleveland Magazine glorified Blue Canyon's fresh fish. I saw only Salmon on the cheap paper menu. The reviews raved about the posh style. I saw a waitstaff in hokey jeans and giant belt buckles. I almost expected them to break out in line dancing while they were ignoring us. The lodge appearance is very attractive, but not unlike hundreds of state park lodges, the main entrance to the Akron Zoo, or even Ken Stewarts (which is lightyears ahead in quality.) The "stunning view" I read about is okay since it is on a hiltop, but looks over a very nice Damon's below. Our waitress was not unfriendly, but was absent most of the evening, and our glasses were empty almost the whole time we were there. The hokey ragtime music was so loud, you could not have a conversation, and despite several other patrons asking desperately to lower the volume, the staff ignored the reqests. My meal almost completely lacked any flavor whatsoever. The only thing resembling seasoning was the odd curry butter for the bread. It was especially odd since this place truly seemed like a glorified Longhorn Steakhouse, except it was much more expensive, less friendly, and served curry butter. Finally, many of the patrons were fakey sort of yuppies acting like they were in Aspen at some great ski lodge. I guess it is unique if you have never been south or west of Parma, but there is really nothing novel about Blue Canyon. I'll stick with the likes of Vivo, Metropolitan, Piatto, Ken Stewarts & Blue Pointe Grill.

Out West, they do things big: Big sky, big plains and big cuts of beef from the big cows that roam them. And in this larger-than-life spirit comes Blue Canyon Kitchen & Tavern, the culinary pride of Twinsburg. Chef Brandt Evans, also a partial owner, brings his acclaimed touch to a menu of American favorites, including wood-grilled New York strip steak, and pretzel-crusted rainbow trout with whole-grain mustard and caper sauce. Diners can choose from six dining areas - the Kitchen, Great Room, Tavern, Porch, Terrace or Lodge - all of which have their own distinct feel while remaining part of the log-cabin-style whole. The only thing that isn't easygoing here is the reservation policy: Demand for tables is big, too, and reservations are highly recommended.
