Yummy
Wonderful masala dosai! Crisp crepe, but not greasy. My multiple visits have been repeatedly good. The atmosphere is attractive and peaceful, except on Sundays when whole families congregate. Then service can be a little slow ordering from the menu instead of getting the buffet. Great early bird prices during the week.

Udupi = Delicious
Delicious and unusual regional Indian cuisine - we stopped here on the recommendation of Cleveland Ethnic Eats, and were not disappointed; it was a flavorful and unique as promised. The buffet was varied and a good sampling of what was available on the larger menu - dishes were spicy but not all heat, and the chutneys were delicious. The food was a good value and the mango ice cream was sublime. I'm looking forward to returning for more.

Superb!
I went here with a friend as an extra credit assignment for a class wherein we were told, "Oh, you've had Indian? You've never had SOUTH Indian!" After dining at Udupi, I'm sad that I had never known of this amazing restaurant until now. It is absolutely the best Indian food I have ever had, and it was so affordable! Our food was hot (some of it too hot, we had to wait for it to cool down) and the restaurant was very clean. My only issue with the atmosphere was that it was too dark in there, I like well-lit areas. I purposely saved some of my food so I could have this delicious experience the next day! Of course, I was full after half of my food, it was amazing. The service was very good, including our server (possibly an owner?) asking us how spicy we wanted our food, specifically, "How spicy? We have medium spicy and make-you-cry spicy."

Worst ever food I ate in Parma Udipi
Friends, I went to this place for 4 times thinking that atleast the next experience will be good, as we can see the variety of food items. But today I ate the worst ever food in here. Literally, idli's coconut chutney, vada, dosa's, sambar, veg. kurma, dal thadka were tasteless, very cold. Waited for 20 min in the middle looking for something atleast fresh/hot item to come. Me and my friends made a resolution that we never come to Udipi-Parma again. When I saw a couple of americans eating our dishes, I felt sorry for them because they cannot taste the great south indian receipes in this Parma-Udipi, they can only look at the variety.

Terrific and Terrifically Cheap
Having visited many times, I can say that the service has always been efficient and courteous. As a vegetarian, it's always nice to be able to order anything on the menu. Dosai and chana batura are especially good. A weekend trip is worth it for the bhel poori. There recently, however, has been a rather steep discount for going Tue-Th. We've had many of the entrées and they're all more than competently executed. And can I repeat how amazingly cheap it is? The food is never, ever flavorless -- spice levels can easily be negotiated with the server.

Bland food
1) Food came out fast; service was slow. 2) Food was all spice, no flavor. 3) Aloo Gobi was ALL sauce. I had only 2 cauliflower florets and 1 potato. 3) Dal tadka was over-blended. 4) Masala dosa was PERFECT.

Sucks!
The term Udupi is associated with delicious south Indian vegeterian food; Udupi Cafe in Parma Heights has little to do with delicious south Indian vegetarian food. The service and atmosphere are average and thats the upside. The downside is that most of the food items in the buffet are tasteless and are probably made with cheaper ingredients and mediocre cooks.

Pure Vegetarian, good Indian food
Pure Vegetarian, excellent food. weekly buffet with salad and fruits on weekends. They do need to add salad and fruits weekdays also, and things like french fries for kids who might not be interested in India food (even Americanized Indian kids). Excellent, this is an International chain worldwide.

Awesome Indian Vegetarian!
I have to say that my experience at Udupi's was great. I ordered a potato and pea pancake with a somosa as an appetizer. For dessert I ordered a vermiccelli pudding. All of it was WONDERFUL! In fact, when our server brought our bill I thought we had spent about $50, however that was not the case. We got a lot of great food for a very decent price. Being a vegetarian, I am used to worrying if I will get an extra surprise of beef or chicken or some animal in my meal. Because the restaurant is 100% veggi, I was able to have a "worry free" experience. I also felt that the staff at Udupi's was very helpful and kind. It was my first time in that type of Indian Restaurant, and they made my experince spectacular. I can't wait to eat there again!

udupi is so good.
this is by far my favorite place to eat. everything is always so good and there is usually something ive never had before. the people are very nice s well. i especially like the buffet they have from noon to three pm because that way you can try things and if you dont like them there is something else to try that you would probably like.

Named for the city on the west coast of southern India, Udupi Cafe serves the region's vegetarian fare in a setting illustrated with stories of gods and their consorts; a bronze Ganesha, the elephant-headed son of the god Shiva, hangs in the entranceway, lovingly bedecked with a circle of silk flowers. Despite limiting itself to vegetarian options, Udipi's menu offers a wide selection of dishes. There are more than a dozen types of dosai (an Indian crÉpe); the masala dosai comes with potatoes and onions in a wrap so large it overtakes the plate. Served with soothing coconut chutney and hot-and-spicy sambar, it blends heat and cool into a satisfying meal. The rasam soup is billed as ""sour and spicy"" - consider yourself warned, and have bread and yogurt on hand to accompany this delicious but nearly searing experience. Desserts are exotic: The Madras special payasam cooks thread-fine vermicelli in milk and honey with raisins and cashews, served pleasantly warm with complex, spicy flavors.
