yummy food for sure
i am from michigan and happened upon this place while in cleveland - and i am happy i did. the lunch special Fez chicken was wonderful! saffron rice, chicken w/ honey, cinnamon, caramelized onions, ginger + raisins = YUM! the place was a little unkempt but the bartender/owner was very nice! our waitress , on the other hand, was kinda lousy but the nice gentleman made up for it!

Uptowne on the up & up
I've been a patron of this establishment for a couple years and the food is excellent and the service is great. The owner and workers are friendly and sociable but I am friendly and sociable so you typically receive the energy you put out. The live entertainment, music, and TV add to the atmosphere as well. Very laid back atmosphere that I enjoy and would recommend to anyone

hookaville
I live in The Triangle, right across the street from Uptowne. I hang out there a lot because they make awesome martinis and have a fun and diverse crowd. They also have a wide assortment of flavored Chi-cha, which is the Arabic fruit flavored tobbacco that is traditionally smoked from a hookah. The food is always extremely rich and delicious. Paricularly tasty is the baba ghanoush (egg plant dip). Also, while not listed on the menu, ask for the "char-grilled" wings instead of the regular wings. While they take a long time to prepare, they are well worth it. Imagine standard wings done up kebob style. Amazing!

A Wonderful Relaxed Place
Uptowne is a friendly bar/restaurant with a menu as diverse as its patronage. The Moroccan cuisine is unique to the area and proves to be an adventure for the palate. The hummus is always fresh and tastes wonderful. I, for one, am not so uptight as to call the owner a 'jerk' and refuse to patronize the 'establishment' simply because he parks where everyone else does in the evening. Highly recommended.

chutzpah
The owner of this establishment feels free to park in the clearly marked "no stopping" lane reserved for eastbound traffic turning right on Mayfield, at the height of afternoon rush hour. I can only imagine what such a selfish lout feels free to do when no one is watching. The food was good, but we will not be back, as it is our policy not to knowingly patronize businesses owned by jerks.
