Behind the scenes nightmare
We recently held a non-profit event at Windows on the River and it was a great success. The food was tasty and served warm and the finished room looked beautiful. Windows really does provide a great view of the city.
I have to make note that while the finished room looked excellent, the behind the scenes atmosphere was simply unacceptable.
My main complaint would be the belligerent worker that was in charge of setting up our room. She was a nightmare for any event planner and absolutely unable to communicate without barking back at the customer-so much to the point where I had to simply just take a deep breath, walk away and ignore her negative presence.
There are many details for an event planner to deal with on the big day, the last thing needed is uncooperative personnel at their venue. Also our main contact at Windows checked in with me about once (if that) to see if we had everything needed for our event (items in our contract such as audio visual etc). Once again we were forced to work with the “rude” worker who had absolutely no answers for us.
To summarize, Windows is a beautiful and fun atmosphere to host an event. But for individuals who crave personalized attention at their venue, I’m afraid Windows scores a 2 (out of 5), if that. I find that to be shame too because the price is not too comparable at Windows and unfortunately some clients find themselves being just “another number.”

Amazing!
I just went to a wedding at Windows and was floored by the quality. I was served some of the best food I've ever had at a wedding (I had chicken marsala with zucchini and squash). The staff was so polite and professional, and the atmosphere was...well, I can't even describe. With it being a Christmas wedding, the place was already decorated and looked beautiful.
