owners thoughts
As the owner of "The Woods" it is shocking to see the two negative reviews above, and thank the two with whom of course I agree. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to write (unless of course you are a competing restaurant looking to drive my sales down.)
Here at The Woods we have worked very hard for 26 years since I took it over from my parents as a pizza place, Dominics Pizza. I am proud to employ over 40 fine individuals (all of us helping to pay down our national tax debt) we do our best every day seven days a week to bring you a quality, comfortable, relaxing break from your hurried life. We strive to provide quality food friendly service and moderate prices, please give us a try, if you should have any sort of an issue you can reach me at work, 440-333-4522. Thank You Chad Chillemi

If You Enjoy REAL Food-EAT HERE!
I have been dining at The Woods for over a decade and could not disagree more with the other reviews. Service has always been top-notch and the food is real, authentic Italian/American. My favorite dish is the Shrimp Salvatore which is crab-stuffed shrimp that is wrapped in bacon and topped with a creamy brushetta-alfredo sauce. It is sooo good and something that I have never seen anywhere else! My husband usually gets the veal scallopini which is also amazing. The dinner prices are reasonable, ranging from $12-$17 a dish, but includes salad and homemade bread. The bread alone is enough reason to go there-and the garlic butter that it is served with is addictive! If you want a true dining experience with friendly and fast service you must try this place! And if fast-food chain restaurants are more your thing, then read the other reviews, because they obviously don't know what good food is.

DON'T EVER GO HERE
This was the absolute worst dining experience We've ever had as far as quality of food for the price. Me and my boyfriend were on our way to eat at the rocky river brewery and it was rather busy so we decided to check this place out instead..BIG MISTAKE. We were a little weary when sitting down not knowing what to expect in the 24hour dinner type atmosphere & noticing the fine dinning prices. The service was OK but you could tell she didn't really care if we were happy or not, just going through the motions of the job.
As far as food...
If you still insist to go here after this review DO NOT ORDER THE artichoke appetizer! It was more like a small helping of cheap cheesy salsa as they threw together with red & green peppers into a casarole of sorts and added something cheap like velveta cheese to the mix..you couldn't even tell there was any artichokes in it with all the other flavors. This was NOTHING like a normal delicious spinach and artichoke dip you would find in nearly every other restaurant. Not to mention the cheap handful of generic tortilla chips that came with it! This un-appetizer alone was nearly 8$. Which would have been worth it if it was edible and came with PITA chips & was more than a half a serving size.
Their "amazing" bread was undercooked and everything was over done with seasonings.
My spinach salad was at least edible, but reasonably small considering with chicken it was nearly 13$! The chicken was something like you would get at mc'donalds. The presentation wasn't anything to glance at and the plates were too small for the food.
My boyfriend got the fish special and it was just just terrible. It came with a condiment size helping of pre- to made looking cole slaw. A few tiny fish pieces overtaken by an again over seasoned breading to cover up how little fish there was. You'd think no one would screw up fries...yet they were cold & had a strange taste. Everything seemed like it had been sitting around in the kitchen all day being microwaved as it was ordered.
Bottom line if you want to spend 50plus dollars going out to eat, at least go some place where the food is worth it! Not some place thats less than a chain restaurant's quality.

Suprised by other post THIS IS GREAT!
I have been going to The Woods for years on end now and I was suprised by reading the previous posters review. I have never had bad service or food when I go here. My husband knows this is one of my favorite places to eat at and we go here on special occassions for me. The food is always so appetizing and fragrant, warm and delicious! The bread is original and unlimited with a herb butter. I love the option of soup or salad with your entree, the salad is yummy, the soups excellent espec. the french onion, piping hot, bubbling with cheese and soo sooo tasty!
I always get the broccolini pasta which is enough to feed 2 people, so creamy, home made alfredo, fresh broccoli florets and grilled chicken in the mix! My husband is more adventourous then I so he has done the seafood bake, eggplant parmisean (which I couldnt stop eating off his plate) chicken florentine which I have had and is amazing and etc...
The staff is very helpful, fast and the manager always walks the room to each table. Last time we went a table had a problem with their order and she made sure it was taken care of fast.
Oh and when you go make sure to hvae the derby pie with coffee for dessert...AMAZING!!! Ughh Im getting hungry for this place just writing about it! And for special occassions they have Behind the Woods cabin for weddings, brithdays, etc to rent and have catered, we had our engagement party there which was so beautiful, yummy and the service was specialized and professional!!
Price range is medium but worth every penny, for $15 you get salad or soup, entree which could feed 2 and great bread! And the atmosphere is warm and cozy like a cabin, I find the old booths which were pews before romantic and cozy!

Uncooked and Unimpressed
6 of us arrived at 6 pm assuming an hour and a half would be enough time to eat. When our food still hadn't arrived by 7:20, we asked the waitress to inquire about it, since we had to be somewhere by 8 pm. It came around 7:35, and we asked the waitress to bring our checks right away. However we were left with finished meals, dirty dishes, and no checks. My friends started leaving; estimating the cost of their bill and asking me to bring them change when I saw them next. My appetizer, the "award winning" bacon wrapped shrimp with crab stuffing left something to be desired in the form of raw bacon. It was disgusting. The waitress asked the manager to take it off our check, and we saw the manager helping the waitress print our checks but were never approached by the manager to apologize for the poor service/food. Then, the waitress didn't have enough "bank" to get us change, and had to go to the bar to get it, delaying us again. The positive? The bread was good, calzones are tasty and prices are reasonable. But considering there were only 4 tables in the restaurant, there should not have been such a delay, no excuse for uncooked bacon, and the dismissal of the manager to acknowledge anything was wrong was a major disappointment. Each of the staff seemed to walk around in a daze, acting as if poor service and mediocre food was normal.
