Save the cash, go to Outback

New Years Eve resevations at 10:00 PM. Waited thirty minutes to be seated even though there were tables available. A cheap trap to get you to spend money at the the bar before being seated. The arrogance from a bunch of shady looking restaurant workers was stifling. When seated our waiter introduced himself, didn't take our drink orders and then disappeared for fifteen minutes before I complained to another waiter. They switched servers, who then took another thirty minutes to bring two coctails which arrived after a bottle of wine and with our entrees. The server refused to leave the bottle of wine at the table and I found myself having to argue with her to let us finish it. Without a doubt the most tacky experience of my life. Another scam to get people to leave unfinished bottles of wine behind. The steak was alright even though the chef didn't know what charred rare meant. I didn't even bother complaining about that. The asparagus was chewy and the potatoes au gratin were comparable to something you boil out of a cardboard box. Basically ruined New Years which we spent walking to meet friends instead of celebrating it with them. $170.00 tab and I swear I would have rather gone to Outback steakhouse. I'm not exaggerating.

Arrogant Owner!!! Awful Experience...

The food is unbelievable, however, the service and arrogance was unacceptable and depletes the restaurant of its sophistication. The owner himself behaved rudely and was demeaning with his tone when he informed our party of 12 that we were dismissed from the opportunity to endulge in dessert because we had arrived 20 minutes late for our reservation; Of which was confirmed via telephone prior to arrival that we infact would be a bit tardy. I am assuming that the celebrity attendance has inflated Z's ego and that our social status didn't uphold to his standards of service. Ultimately, the owner had our server deliver his final message... that our entire party of 12 must leave immediately and in return all of our meals were compensated for. Upon departure, not only did "Z" maintain his unapolgetic and arrogant mannerisms, we did not notice a large party in waiting as was claimed. Unfortunately it was an unpleasant experience and destroyed the morale of a 30th birthday celebration.

Never Again!!!!

With a party of ten and had reservations at 6pm. do to weather and traffic we were running late. We had even called the manager ahead of time to let them know we were running late and they said it was fine. When our party arrived at 6:20 we were seated and our drink order was taken. 20 minutes later we received our drinks. We were not even asked if we wanted to order appetizers, the waiter just started asking everyone what they wanted for dinner. After we ate our dinner which was mediocre and way over priced The waiter handed us our bill. We were not even offered dessert! When we asked to see a dessert menu. The waiter told us that the OWNER told him not to offer us any dessert because he needed the tables and wanted us to leave. After speaking with the owner who was very rude and we told him how we felt he did not change his mind. I would never eat here again nor do i recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Xcellent Dinner for 4

We made a reservation for 7:30 on Saturday. Walked right in and got seated. Started with drink, wine for the girls and a beer and a 'strong' crown and coke for the boys. We ordered the $14tuna trio and fondue for appetizers. Delicious. Not a fan of the tartare but the tuna roll and sashimi was great. The $17 fondue was served with bacon, apples, pineapple, potatoes and bread. It was great, we almost ate all of it. No complaints about dinner. We ordered chicken, salmon and the grouper. We were all pleased. No dessert, we were full!!! Total bill 210 for 4 with 7-8 cocktails. The womens bathroom was a little dirty, run down. IT wasnt very busy, seemed to be picking up around 9ish. A employee at our hotel tried to tell us to go elsewhere, i am glad we went.

Worst Dining Experience Ever

We waited 30 minutes to be seated - with a reservation. We were asked to go to the bar area and wait. When we sat down at the bar - we were asked to move by "G" the bartender, as someone was sitting there - the whole 30 minutes we waited - no one ever sat there. It took our server 20 minutes to greet us. When we ordered the crab cake appetizer our servers response "there is only one on the plate". The surf and turf was not even mediocre - it was gross. It was a dry on top and raw underneath lobster tail, a tough filet mignon served on top of overcooked risoto with globs of mozzarella cheese and mushy tomatos mixed in with a creamy looking pesto globbed on the side - I sent it back - it ruined my appetite. No apology from the chef - my husband had fries with his steak that looked like they came from a frozen bag of fries. Ketchup served in a small gravy boat. The bathrooms were dirty, the stalls were coming unscrewed from the wall, couldn't lock the door because the locks did not match up, toilet paper dispensers broken. When we told our server we weren't going to pay for such an unsatisfying experience, we were told "if you don't pay, I have to pay for this and I have three kids to feed". We negotiated 1/2 of the bill with them and left. Will never recommend or eat there again. The service from the moment we entered was poor at best. We called the owner to complain and we were told "well, you can't please everyone". There was no on-site management. Way over priced for the service and quality offered.

we went to xo sunday evening the place was empty. there were 13 of us and there were 4 people waiting on us. the service was very very slow, good food, but very slow service. also they couldn't remember who got what and forgot our garlic mashed potatos. my husband had to go the bar to get his own drink. other than that the food and atmosphere were great.

loved the experience!!!

My boyfriend took me out to XO on the night of Sept 12, 2006 and proposed to me. That was the best day of my life and now we are going to be getting married on July 7th 2007. The waitress that we had that night was wonderful and she made the night even more special by being so excited for us. We had a wonderful experience and Im glad it happened there.

aweful service and food

We picked XO for our New Year's Eve dinner. (14 total people) Our reservation was for 9PM and when we arrived at the restaurant it was about half full. From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff seemed to be running around confused with the whole process. First, when anyone ordered a drink it would take 2-3 times to remind the waiter, then the drink would finally arrive 10 minutes later. Before the food came out several of us complained to the Manager but nothing changed. Next, the "food runner" brought out the meals one at a time to the wrong guests. The food (mostly ribeye's, grouper) was cold. My filet of ribeye (which was ordered medium-rare) was very chewy. During dinner I asked the other people how they liked the food and everyone stated that the service and food was aweful. Many of the guests have eaten at restaurants all over Cleveland and many agreed this was the worst expierence ever. We will stick with proven winners such as, Blue Point, Red the Steakhouse, Flemings, and Ken Stewart's.

The Best Steaks, Service,Decor!!!!

I had lunch here on Friday, I love this place!! The decor is top notch, service impeccable, and the steaks what can I say, melt in your mouth. I had the 6 ounce filet with scallopped potaotes and garlic spinich, hubby had 3 ounce fillet with a jumbo scampi with a tomato /basil risoto. The basil was super intense, could of used a bit of parmesean for balence. But the meal was outstanding. Only thing we didnt like was the lobster bisque, it was runny with way too much sherry. Other than that, this place was put on my -cant wait to return- list. People who think Red is so great need to try this establishment. Hands down XO is better!!!!

Northern Ohio Live Magazine

Zdenko Zovkic recently retooled his Warehouse District hot spot by butching up the decor ever so slightly and adding more meat - as in aged USDA prime steaks - to the menu. Some of Chef Scott Popovic's creations have carried over from the old menu, including the fried rock shrimp appetizer, served with spicy chili sauce and lemon a
