DickNutly's
I went on a date with my 14 year old girlfriend to this bar because I knew they wouldn't i.d. her at the door, we got in as expected. While entering, the first and only open table we came across still had the remainders of the last party on it with no service in sight. When we sat down, my rear was immediately soaked with what appeared to be beer, "I hope"! I went to the bathroom to clean up and when I walked in the smell and sight made me sick to my stomach, feces on the toilet seat and walls, urine and vomit all over the floor and in the sink, I was appalled! While heading back to my seat, I see my date being groped by an employee at the bar, when I confronted him, he responded, "fuck off, fat boy!" and had me kicked out of the bar by four bouncers! One of them grabbed and squeezed my testicles until I couldn't breathe or even scream! Next thing I know, I awake to a Cleveland police officer telling me to stand up and put my hands on his car, luckily he didn't arrest me, but let me go with a disorderly conduct ticket.. I will never step foot in that bar ever again, and those guys are lucky my shoulder was hurting that night or I would have kicked all their butts!!

Filthy, cold, depressing, empty, scary
Maybe this place was nice once; I don't know. We went with a coupon from a popular dining site -- MISTAKE! This is NOT A RESTAURANT, nor is it a real neighborhood pub, but a scary dirty dive filled with creepy drunks. A giant cavernous space (that they seemingly do not heat) but with only 10 customers on Valentine's Day evening. Only open after 6PM, though no hours are posted.
Drinks are cheap, but beware that it is just FILTHY inside -- dirty bathrooms, sticky tables and floors, no SILVERWARE OR NAPKINS. One dirty menu at the bar -- you must pre-pay for food -- then pick it up a mile away across the whole place. One teenage kid running a fryolator, who must take orders, wait tables, COOK and clean the bathroom (ew!). Even with a tiny handful of people, he was unable to cook the simple menu of burgers, fries and (cold) pizza.
We and everyone else there that unfortunate night had to wait OVER TWO HOURS to get our pre-paid burnt hamburgers on cold buns, and cold (yet burned) fries. I didn't eat the pizza, but it looked burnt and totally gross (was also COLD).
If the food was not bad enough -- and it was "Board of Health shut-down bad" -- then the atmosphere of old, scary, creepy drunks screaming stuff like "I'm going to KILL THEM ALL!" would have finished it off.
Don't mistake this for a neighborhood hang out or college bar -- it's not. It's a sad, scary, filthy inner-city slum bar without real food service, that somehow landed a plum space in a hip neighborhood.
It also looks to be about a couple weeks from going out of business or being closed for health violations. I don't think a couple cheap drinks are worth getting botulism -- do you?

Now this is the place to be!
Been trying this place for 6-7 years, now it is finally what we have wanted it to be! The place is clean and comfortable, the food is incredible and is priced perfect, the staff is HOT and friendly, they finally got with the program and have an amazing craft beer selection, they have crystal clear plasma tv's everywhere, and I have never in my life seen better drink specials, our group of 8 did 21 Bacardi Bombs & they were only $1 apiece? Anywhere else those are $5-7, this is a must visit place, the overall quality of the patrons has gone up considerably from the past 3-4 years too! Definatley recommend, hell I'll buy you a bomb if I see ya there!

Is there a better deal anywhere else?
Apparently McNulty's has decided to low ball everywhere else. There are $1.00 drinks from 5-7 every day of the week. A group of 12 of us just had pizza (which was pretty good), bought 24 bombs (Bacardi flavors are only $1) and had a draft apiece. The total was under 60 bucks!!! for 12 people. for dinner beers and shots. Ridiculous. Will be back.
P.S. Apparently Wednesday si Ladies Night with free drinks all night from 11-cl for the chicas. My gf is headed up with her sorority sisters next week.

Don't Bother.
The staff at McNulty's has changed (I heard there is a new owner). It's hard to get a drink there on the weekend. The bartenders are super slow. All the prices have gone up too, I used to get a (small) pitcher for $6, now they are $8. They used to have dollar slices of pizza, but not any more. Now they only sell burgers that cost $5. It used to be fun and cheap, now it is just annoying. Skip this place and go to B Side or Panini's.

So much potential!
Good food, decent drink prices, excellent view to Coventry Road below. This place has the makings for one of best east side pubs. Unfortunately the ownership doesn't seem to want to go there. I don't get it. The service is sometimes so awful I have a hard time leaving a tip at all. Bartenders who don't keep an eye on the client's needs should not be there. Go get a factory job. I shouldn't have to get up and walk down to the other end of the bar to get another drink. And the restrooms desperately need help. If it weren't for it's unique location, this place would not survive. The Winking Lizard, for it's faults, is still better.

Best Party on the Street!
McNulty's is the best night spot to go in Coventry. This bar not only has the cheapest drink prices on the street, but is also just as fun as going downtown. DJ's and dancing Thursday through Saturday. The bar is huge, so this is a great place to have a good time with a lot of friends. Sundays are fun too. The bartenders are really good. Usually one of the bartenders gets up on the bar and blows fire, it's awesome!

Great drink specials... At a price.
McNulty's is undoubtedly the place to go if you're in the poor college student category, but you need to be on your toes. The service is reliable- in that every single time I go, without exception, the service reliably sucks! But, the outstanding drink specials keep me coming back for more. The food ranges in quality, and beware of the appetizer specials- the portion sizes are far less than what the regular price would buy you. Truth in advertising apparently doesn't apply here. So, if you want a reaaaally cheap tasty drink slammed in front of you twenty five minutes from when you ordered it, this is undeniably the place for you.

There is consistency in inconsistency?
When I first moved to Cleveland four years ago, this establishment was a Panini's, and it had a great happy hour, complete with $2.50 pints for all beers in house and cheap mix drinks. Although the ownership has not changed hands, they have selected to drop the "Panini" logo and adopt a family name. while I applaud family-owned/supported business, their policies, hours and prices have since entered a state of constant flux. For example, many of their signs posted in the restaurant will reflect different arrangements and prices of their various "deals" and specials. The food is adequate, and you get a lot for the price, but the inconsistency has driven my friends and me down the street to the Winking Lizard, which is a bit more expensive but at least you know what you're going to get. The final straw with McNulty's was this past summer when I had friends in town. They have posted that they are open from 8 PM on Sundays. When we arrived at 8:30, the doors were closed. Two weeks later the same thing happened with another group of friends on Sunday.
I'd like to throw this place some business, but I can't recommend it for anything other than the large portions of food and the many TVs located around the bar room.
Also, the wait staff has, for the large part, poor attitudes.

McBombdiggity's
This place has something for everyone. If you're looking for a relax place to get some beers and some food, I recommend the 4-6 happy hour (4-7 Fridays). $1 drafts, and an amazing menu full of $3 appetizers. If you're looking for some nite life, try here any day of the week. Specifically Wed (wings & ladies night), or Thursday (crazy fun & good drink specials). The atmosphere is always nice and the large space and good set-up keeps you from stepping on each others toes. oh yeah... and cute bartenders.
