Triple Threat
If you cannot decide on what is more important, service, food, or atmosphere then Anthony's of Little Italy in Cleveland is the place to go. While the food alone is worth the trip, the exceptional helpful service along with an atmosphere where you can have a conversation without shouting makes this place memorable. The Caprese salad and its blend of tomatoes, cheese and spices was an incredible mix that allowed all the flavors to come through and not be overpowered by one flavor. We were in a pizza mood and the Screaming Tomato was an excellent choice. My wife exclaimed it was the best pizza she has ever tasted. Holding true as a typical 9 year old, our youngest son had the spaghetti and meat balls. It was enough to feed 2 adults and had all of us sampling his meal. Excellent texture to the pasta, and the sauce was consistent with our other choices. Not too overpowering with 1 ingredient, instead having great blending of spices. The Montalbano Chianti was a nice wine of choice powerful enough to hold its own with the Italian food but not so overpowering that it interfered with the food. And the best of all, the service was impeccable. After two nights of dining in Little Italy we had accepted the less then friendly wait staff at other restaurants. Pushy staff is not on the menu at Anthony's as helpful advice, attentiveness while not being overbearing, and just friendly in nature was a treat. Future trips to Cleveland to visit our son attending college at Case Western will include a stop at Anthony's.

Anthony's of Little Italy - A Great Evening!
We had dinner at Anthony's the other night - Great experience! We ordered this mediterranean chicken dish that my wife saw them cook on tv recently, and it was excellent - as was the caprese salad. Very nice selection of Italian wines. Rustic setting & friendly service was nice touch. We'll definitely be back.

Got Gelato?...Anthony's of Little Italy Does!
If you have a chance to get down to the old neighborhood, I highly recommend that you visit Anthony's of Little Italy. This casual, friendly little cafe has got to be one of Cleveland's best-kept secrets.
I stopped-by there recently for lunch while working that day in the University Circle area, and I'm really glad that I did.
I felt like I stepped into the Old World when I walked in the door and smelled the amazing mixed aroma of pizza, garlic & bread. As Italian music played in the background, the servers interacted in a very engaging, energetic manner with me & the many other customers who were lined-up at the counters.
For lunch, I had an incredibly flavorful, grilled chicken pesto panini sandwich that was extremely filling. Fortunately, I was not too full to pass-up desert, because it turns out that Anthony's makes the best gelato that I've had since vacationing in Florence with my family. The servers actually encouraged me to sample several flavors before deciding on one...I highly recommend the "Zabajone" which I was told is a creamy blend of honey, egg-custard, and marsala wine. It was heavenly! All told, I spent just under $10 on lunch, and it was well worth it! My co-worker spent slightly less because she opted for a 1/2-calzone, which she loved...she also loved the gelato - pistachio! I'm definitely going back to Anthony's of Little Italy, and next time I'm bringing my family!
