Velvet Dog is in the Dog House
It seems as if Clevelanders are ok with this type of establishment. It is definately a far cry from any posh club I have gone to. As with the poster from OR my bank statement revealed unauthorized charges, the bartenders were very slow, very young crowd, dj was old and stale. I would not visit this club again. Maybe out of towners standards are just higher!

kind of cool sometimes
Good when it isn't crowded, like in the afternoon or earlyish during the weekdays. When the drunk recently graduated sorority girls arrive for the drink specials, and the international male rooster heads arrive with their clan of look-alikes arrive for the drink specials and to give each other attitude - be sure to head for the exit.

Response from Velvet Dog Management: The last review does not characterize how we do business. We respond to complaints all the time and attempt to resolve a situation in the best interests of our guests. We were never contacted about the previous problem stated in the review and are unaware of any situations that have occured like the one described. We pride ourselves on our success for the past 8 years and feel that our superior customer service is a main reason for our continued success.

Cleveland Rocks!
-but the Velvet Dog is quite the opposite.
-Drinks were taken without my permission.
-I was given attitude by the bartender.
-my bank statement confirms that excess tip money was forged on my receipt.
Cleveland beware of the Velvet Dog.

That's hot.
The new Velvet Dog is so much cooler. You need to go up to check out the third floor VIP lounge. It's totally different from the other floors and for some reason they hide the hottest bartender up there.

Cosmetic Sugery is well done!
Wow, the Velvet Dog really did a great job with the renovations..the place looks fabulous and way more fun now as well! Looks like the Dog is back on top!
