Real Nice Job
haven't seen anybody work on or in their busines like these folks. they actually care about the people that come in and the meals that they serve. i've been coming in here for years, since they opened ten or twelve years ago. always had a great meal - almost too much food and take food home for next day. they have the best fried chicken (i know, i don't get it often but if you're going to splurge, go for it! it's not greasy and goes great with mashed potatoes!)..they are really one of the few places that make food from scratch, always fresh. Their potato crusted roughy is pretty tasty and filling as is their bbq ribs that are meaty and cooked just right. want to get business going again in this economy? support your local restaurants rather than chains, they put money back into our community!

Real Food & Lots of Variety!
This restaurant experience was amazing. Like nothing i have seen in Ohio. The food is fresh and the menu extensive. I love the Greek-A-Dillas as an app...they were essentially gyros in quesadilla form. We had the Scrod Almondine which was to die for (light/fresh/touch of lemon and pan-fried not 'coated'). They gave me way too much food (potato leek soup that they make fresh and salad) - what a bargain it was. For four of us the bill was around $35. Who eats so much food for $35 anymore. My husband had a strip steak (he loved it) and my two sons had the fried chicken (no grease at all) and huge burgers. The burgers are some of the biggest I have seen. Don't know where the others in these reviews ate; it's like they ate somewhere else. Their waitress could be more polished but for the cost of the experience, they were friendly and good enough. I wasn't looking for a high end restaurant but i have to say, it's better than anymore else i have dined.

Great Service-Great Food!
I meet up with my family and friends each Friday for dinner out. We decided to try Athena's in August, we have been there 4 times since! The atmosphere was nice, the staff were all very friendly...giving us great details about the best things to order. And all of us LOVED our meals. You get b&b, soup, salad & entree plus the cost of a soda, tax & tip, per person about $10-$20.00 which is very reasonable for a good home cooked meal. Overall...A+A+A+A+

Best Dinner For Cheap!
I have not had such great fried chicken that was not greasy and accompanied, get this, with honest to goodness REAL mashed potatoes like you'd get at family dinner on Sundays! I went back and had their lamb shank dinner and the lamb was falling off the bone. They serve a number of different specialties and all homemade. For dinner less than $10 with soup, salad and dinner, what a bargain!

Good Food at a Great Price!
I was so impressed with the breakfast I had a couple of weeks ago, that I decided to try Athena's for dinner last night. I wasn't disappointed. I had a hamburger and fries and they were the best I've had in a while.

Best Cheap Eats & Home Cooked Meals
We have always had great food here - maybe it was a bad day. We always geat great meals, always fresh and prime quality. I know the owners and they work like crazy to deliver a wonderful meal and I can assure you, they spend money to make food from scratch where others in the area will skimp on quality and pre-fabbed food. No, the owners are the same for the last 8 years. They have wonderful fried chicken, liver and onions, homemade soups made daily. If you have a problem, bring it to their attention! I always found them ready to jump to help out and fix anything!

Try Their Chicken Paprikash on Mondays
Honestly you have to try their Chicken Paprikash on Mondays - but catch is that you either have to go early or call to reserve this for dinner! I went two weeks in a row and they were already sold out - they make this fresh every Monday morning and they sell until they run out. Nothing frozen or cooked ahead!

Great Sandwiches
The Mile-High Turkey club rivals even Joes Deli, although Athenas lacks the atmosphere of Joes, the wait is usually a lot less. I did not have the service problems that others have mentioned. the menu seems very extensive and promising

Most need a 'personality'!!!
We used to like to go here on occasion... quick bite to eat, and a lot to eat for the price. BUT... what happened, is beyond me. The last time we went in, it was a Friday afternoon during Lent, and after being seated and asked what we wanted, it was as though the waitress vanished. Never came back to ask if our meals were okay, and we had to ask the bus boy for a container to take home what we could not finish. She also acted like she totally hated her job. If you don't like what you are doing... then don't do it, and make it known to the public who's helping pay your wages.

Mediocre At Best...
This place used to have reliably good food and decent service.Having moved from the area and now back after a couple of year I can't say if the owers changed hands or what has happened but...the food was just ok , nothing to go out of way for.Fried mushrooms which were once some the best around are now mushy , YUCK indicing orbs.Hamborgers arrived on wierd , misshapped (someone sat something on top of 'em....looked crushed) buns and had no flavor. The beef itself was low quality.Service was also bad...we had to press our waitress for a lunch menu...it was NOON.She then came back to our table over and over....it was Sunday , we we're relaxing but she acted as if she needed to turn the table over. They were not terribly busy and had no waiting parties. Will avoid.

Home Cooked Food Like Mom's!
If I am trying to get food on the table and have been running from one school event to another or running to get a great breakfast, this is the place. They have the best omelettes (large and fluffy), the best homemade mashed potatoes, fish fry, meatloaf, fried chicken, gyros, SALADs that are a whole meal, corned beef sandwiches you can't get your mouth around and the cleanest place you will see. They are right on Lake Road and Moore (next to the Ford dealership)!
