Totally delish food, worst waitress EVER.

The wife and I went here tonight, never having been here before. Anyways we both had the Jaeger Schnitzel which we both though was incredible. Great tasting, great portion, just incredible. Our waitress, NICKY, not so much so. She seemed as attentive as a corpse. Once we got our food, our relationship was over. No inquiry for drink top offs, no bringing us more bread, no inquiry on the food. We even tried to flag her down. She blew us off. I pull no punches, the food was great, Nicky sucked at her job, though.

Great German Food !

We were eastside Clevelanders this weekend winding our way back to South Euclid from Southland Mall. On Pearl Road we caught a glimpse of Das Schnitzel Haus and thought we'd give it a try. Great food. I had deliciously crisp veal snitzel, tasty Bratwurst and fork-tender beef goulash on the combo sampler plate. My wife opted for an order of cabbage & noodles and potato pierogis, fried in onions. Everything was tasty and so was my German wheat beer. We finished it off with a crisp cherry strudel. We frequent eastern & central European restaurants downtown and on the east side, but Das Snitzel Haus is worth the drive over to Parma. Check out the beer steins and coo-koo clock too !

Fabulous Restaurant;Great Prices;Excellent Food

We just found out about this place on a fluke and cannot wait to return. Excellent prices and friendly staff. The paprikash was probably the best I have ever eaten and the spaetzles were so light and fluffy-out of this world. They also do a great job on more traditional foods like ribs and fish. Amazing food, great prices. A real gem! Cannot wait to try the lunch buffet!

Best Local Ethnic Food In Parma

I have eaten there a dozen times, I bring people here when theyare from out of town. I have brought turned up nose people from California and executives from around the world. Everybody loves it, I love it. I can not say enough good about it. It's nothing to look at, so you have to put up with some decor things, its not modern like an Olive Garden, but so what, if you just want to eat great, and I mean not just good, but great german ethnic food, you will love it like I do.

Das Spetzel Haus!

Visited yesterday for a late lunch and chose the buffet. Almost handcuffed myself to the pot of chicken spetzel soup; it was that good. The buffet is reasonably priced; it is not a mile-long buffet; scoped it out first because it was rather small. Very tasty pork schnitzel, lovely beef goulash, li'l potato pancakes, fresh salads, and again about the soup-very tasty, nice broth and chunks of veggies and chicken and yes, spetzel, nothing stingy about anything offered on this buffet. Service was prompt and pleasant and I mentioned seeing their recent good PD review and had a nice chat with a nice lady who clued me in on their rotating buffet offerings. Generous basket of bread provided, fresh and chewy. Restrooms were clean and I am a stickler for this and will not spend my money at a place again if I have to mouth-breathe to make it through a trip to their facilities. If I had room, I would have tried a slice of cake; their desserts looked wonderful. That'll have to be during a visit where there's no chicken spetzel soup on the buffet that day!

Unsatisfactory

Here is a copy of the letter I sent to Das Sshnitzel Haus this evening: Tonight was the third time I've been to your restaurant, and I must say that this was the most disappointing. The food was mostly pretty good, but the service was lousy. Our waitress (rather old for a waitress, I thought) was much more interested in the large group sitting outside (with presumably the larger possilbe tip) than my date and I. I even had to get my own beer at the bar at one point. Then, while we were still eating, another waitress started spraying the tables near us with glass cleaner, and an ammonia fog mist drifted our (and I'm sure other people's) direction, and it's all I could smell for about 10 seconds. This was rude, unthoughtful, inconsiderate and nauseating. PEOPLE WERE EATING! Certainly she could have used something other than glass cleaner or she could have sprayed the rag instead of the table. Completely unacceptable. The last time I visited your restaurant I brought a group of people and gave a $25 dollar tip; this time I left $2 dollars, which was probably $2 dollars too much. I can't imagine returning any time soon.

DO NOT eat here!

A group of us ate here on 10/17/09. Most of us ordered the Clambake fixings. Well, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go there to eat food for a Clambake. It was terrible. Here's the reasons why: 1)Sweet potato was overcooked or something...very soggy like mush...several people complained about this. 2)one person just wanted 2 dozen clams, that's it...the waiter brought her one dozen clams and then later brought her the other dozen and the chicken, corn and sweet potato..3)speaking of corn on the cob..isn't it supposed to be sweet? To me, it was not sweet at all..the corn could have been 6 months old..that's what it tasted like..yuk! 4)The restaurant is not HANDICAPPED friendly. I saw a ramp that went into the restaurant but as far as the women's bathrooms, it was not HANDICAPPED accessible (with handles on the wall or even room for a wheelchair to get in).Look out Mr. Carl Monday, this is an EYETEAM exclusive..State of Ohio requires that a place of establishment, such as a restaurant that serves food must provide a HANDICAP facility (bathroom) for their patrons. 5)Also, there were too many steps to go up and down to get to the other side of the restaurant..What's that all about? 6)Forgot that several of the patrons in the group mentioned that the chicken was not cooked inside. This is not good because of food poisoning issues! 7) A few people ordered pork chops or something porky and there were issues with that as well. I am not sure what the problem was there but I know there was dissatisfaction. 8) Also, since WHEN does the State of Ohio REQUIRE that a restaurant include the gratuity (tip for you simple readers) in the bill? Isn't the TIP supposed to be the customers' decision? It's not like the required SALES TAX or anything, is it? So my review for this restaurant is an F minus..I don't think a restaurant can get any lower than that. Most of the people in the group took their food home. The majority of the people in the group were DISGUSTED with the food and will never go there for dinner again! Look out Carl Monday, I think you have a hot story here! I'm just being honest what happened tonight!
