A Masterpiece!
We stumbled upon Michaelangelo's by chance and are SO glad we did! We ended up eating there twice in two weeks and the food and service were fabulolus!
You absolutely MUST order the sacchetti pasta with black truffles. It's $28 and worth it! Our waiter recommended it and I am so glad he did. Every bite was heaven on earth. Love the upscale ambiance - felt like we could have been in Boston, NY or LA. When we're in LI - we won't go anywhere now but Michaelangelo's!

Upbeat dining
Appealing bar - dark, great antipasto. Attractive dining room with sun-filled windows on one side; very good menu variety and well-prepared dishes. Dinner service has been good; relaxing atmosphere. This restaurant is one of our favorites.

ONE RUDE DUDE!
Called Michaelangelo's because I just notice out gift certificate we received for our anniversary expired yesterday. The guy who answered the phone acted like I was putting him out of his way. Very huffy and short. He said he would only honor it through this weekend. Like they didn't get paid for it already! I know that's it's called an expiration but come on people this is not New York city. These smug people that work at these Cleveland "upscale" restaurants kill me. Thinking about canceling after reading other local reviews about the rudeness.

Over Rated
Seeing a sign outside the door as Best New Italian Restaurant of 2006, made us think we were in for treat. NOT.. The dining room is beautiful, but the service and food lacked far behind. We selected a bottle of wine, $48 ChalkHll CB,, we the bottle came out it was their second lable, Imagine. Bate and Switch?? Totally misleading. The server was extremely cocky, did not know how to describe his specials with any excitement or detail, yet claims he is in management. The antipasta platter was good. The menu selections were average but not inticing. The portions were okay but lacked creativity and style. The server never came around to see how things were, if we wanted cheese on our pasta. Plates were cleared to late and the opportunity to try $11 dessert was senseless. With so many italian restaurants around, the chef needs to always asking himself what sets him apart from other places, because with what is going on currently, I question how long before their out of business.
